The custom of marriage with Quran is non existence and there are may be no cases during last 50 years, but issue was hilighted in couple of dramas from state owned PTv and the writer of these dramas later explained that they even didn’t observe such thing in their life and their portrayal was based on what they heard from their elders.
Our media also made dramas on Mukhtaran Mai and Dr Shazia case, which are rare by your definition. Even there was an incident of police harassing ladies in a village in Punjab during Zia regime that was also hilighted.
So being rare issue doesn’t absolve us to close our eyes and say let it go.
