^ Iraq had a rampant civil war situation in the early days of invasion since many people were oppressed amongst sectarian/ethnic/political lines during the long period that Saddam ruled; and at the demise of Saddam, many did took the law and justice in their own hands carrying out "revenge" but thank God that is the thing of the past now and those days are quite clearly over. Now its Al Qaeda and their 'takfiri' brothers that are killing innocent Iraqis (Shia and Sunnis).

22 February 2006 Al-Askari Mosque bombing- Imam Hasan Al Askari (as) shrine bombed. In retaliation killings hundreds die both ways (Shia and Sunni).
Buratha Mosque bombing- 85 die in attack on Shia mosque. 3 bombs including one targeted member of parliament.
1 July 2006 Sadr City bombing- 62 people die as bomb explodes in Sadr city. Shias die.
23 November 2006 Sadr City bombings- 215 die in mortar attack on Sadr city. Shia die.

aahhh this is such a sad news.
My father and mother have just returned from a trip to Iraq. My father says that he went to Azamiya's Abu Hanifa mosque in Baghdad and saw Sunni and Shia pray side by side. Then he went to Kazmiya mosque of Imam Musa Kazim (as) on the other side of river in Baghdad and saw both Sunni and Shias praying and mixing really well. According to my father the Iraqi people say that their enemy are alQaeda terrorists whose ways and activities sounded to me seem very similar to the Taliban in Pakistan. My father said that the security arrangements there are unbelievably tight and it is unlikely that these attacks can be carried out without the patronage of the Americans and the public is conscious and aware of this.
