parents- usually not - atleast not right away, mostly because certain people who shall remain unnamed burden them with every little issue of their lives anyways. they are always worrying about someone because someone has this issue in pakistan and someone has this in canada...etc etc

I would share any news from my brothers first.
In any case i depend a lot on my family support structure, and it is only fair they should know what coming.
