Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
^really? the samples on her website look as bad as the above outfit.
Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
I dont have a bad experiene with the outfit as such, just wanted to warn people off a few shops in UK cos my sister and I had a bad experience with them.
FIRST:
Khushboos
Went to their store in Birmingham, they wouldn't let my sister try on outfits unless she wanted to buy (wtf?), they kept following her into the changing room. We had to pester the main guy for about 2 hours before he let us try on outfits, and his attitude was unbelievable. Needless to say, we didn't get our outfit from there.
Daminis
These lot are famous for being stuck up anyways. We went to their store in Green Street, East London and they basically said we needed an appointment. Fair enough. They said we could look around, and when we looked the woman told us to stop touching stuff and basically go away. RUDE.
These two were the worst anwayys, we had a few more rude people, but these lot took the biscuit (I seriously wanted to spit at someone).
If you do go...make sure you're rude to them :D

I agree with you that samples on her facebook look just as bad but I know some relatives that live in khi who ordered from her and I saw their clothes looked fine. She just decided to rip me off because I was ordering online and no one was there to check the work on my dress!!

@ madhatter **Khushboos **have lovely dresses i live in Birmingham so I know ladypool road well...... Ive heard a lot of stories about this place mostly to do with the fact that most designs are copies or whatever..... Thy had some very bad press coverage a year or so back not sure if its under new management.....
You should have tried the shop opposite cant remember the name now but they have wicked stuff
Chand @ khusboos is a total idiot.! Ive heard majority of brides get their clothes really late from him or they dont turn up.! I cant stand him his brother across the road is much nicer.!

Yeah we went across the road in the end! My sister ended up getting one of her outfits from there, and they did her a good deal too. But it was just the attitude of the guy at Khushboo, he was just SO full of himself and the fact that his designs are apparently so popular - I'm guessing that it's mainly cos his face is in a few magazines that he got all happy.
I just don't get how he's gonna sell clothes if he won't let you try them on! What an idiot. Tsk.
Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
Omg that Khushboo frm Ladypool Rd really messed me around too,
ok now this is around 5yrs old but still! I would never go to him again!
Basically I really liked a churidaar with frock style dress at his shop & I ordered it for my registration (civil marriage) because they do made to measure, he asked me if it was ok to wait for 4 to 5 weeks, and I said fine as long as I get it on time. So we gave him measurements n order form completed n deposit given. But then 5 weeks later he started makin excuses like the workers were on strike and holidays in India & silly little excuses just kept fobbing me off really.
In the end he just apologised and said that it wasn't going to come in time & I should go and find another suit from his mother's shop across d road. Which I did, cuz I had no other option as he'd let me down on d last minute & I didn't have anything to wear.

**My Wedding in October, And I got my dress done by Facebook Please Log In
I WOULD RECOMMEND NEVER TO GET ANY DRESS DONE WITH THIS CHEAT …
She did this so called “replica” for and has minted money off me charged me AED 10,550.00/USD 2875.00 and I got a shirt work done of only and only sequence except for duppatta nothing was done properly I was told of flared kameez got a straight sequence work only kameez, Jamawar plazo was promised and only chiffon plain lengha was send to me with zero work and of which colour was different from shirt and dupatta, Sanaa Taariq kept justifying her actual replica saying the actual work was of sequence but i feel cheated, IS SHE KIDDING ME BRIDAL DRESS OF ONLY SEQUENCE WORK NOT WOTH THE MONEY OF USD 2875 worth with plain straight lenhga? i will accept the only proper thing on this dress was the duppatta and nothing else.
I would expect person taking so much money who have seen actual dress would come back and advise that you are bride are you sure you just want sequence work done shirt, all she said it was “intricate” work, to a client like me that would simply mean detailed work like and not sequence only.
SHE IS A CHEAT SHE MINTED MONEY OFF ME MY HARD EARNED MONEY AND NOW I AM LEFT HELPLESS !!! BEFORE MY WEDDING.**

Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
well guys my best freind was getting married so we both flew from canada to lahore to get her stuff, because she didnt know much abt lahore cause she snto from there an i am... so we went to a LOTTTTTT of designers almost every single big one to check ut the variety they had... over all i would say the best customer service would be from maria B. the girls working there were absolutely amazing! the minute u walk into the bridal section they treat u like u r royalty, they were soo down to earth and soo freindly and talktive they made feel soo comforatlbe! we were there for about 2 hours discussing everything for her bridal and mendhi outfits n valima n not once did they complain abt anything it was such an amazing experince, n they even offered us snacks and chai and everything! my freind was soo happy she ordered 10 things from her! when we went with karma we didnt have an appointment n when we asked the lady at the reception if we can see bridal things, she looked at us liek we were her servants n was like Sighhhh okay fine... the whoel tiem she was showing us things it was liek shes doign us a favour, we were there for litreally 10 mins n we left, cause they were soo damn ungrateful... when i went to hsy to get a few formal outfits for myself, they were extrmelyy happy, n very freindly, n ver polite and helpful, both over the phone n via email.. i am ordering 2 more outfits from there via email , and they respond in hours they are soo damn reliable... also i went with my cousin to bunto and she was soo damn nice and soo friendly and vey very professional.. it may have been cause we know her as well , but i saw how she was treating other clinets as well n shes extremely good with her customers... as for nomi ansari n umar sayeed, firsntly the attitude they have is unbeliavle... by looking at them ata first glance they dont even look like designers! my chapraasi who cleans my house is betet rlooking n behaved them them, n they r both soo uglyy, n thier ugliness is represtned int hier personality as well! they r both very good, but they pretned they r freaking valentino and gucci! for god sakes no one but pakistanis know who the hell they r, to the otutside world they r unknown!
I have to echo your comment about Nomi Ansari. The guy is super unprofessional. I contacted him before my own wedding because i was interested in getting my mehndi outfit made from him. I emailed him a few simple questions about the ordering process. It was a legit email and not one of those "iss kee price kia hai" emails. He took more than 3 months to respond and in the response asked me which outfit i was inquring about even though I included the link to the outfit and it's code. Idiot bunda! someone else commented how he made fun of a client in front of her because the client's wedding card was in urdu. @$$ hole

Where did you end up for your mehandi outfit?
Re: Bad experiences with designers- share your story here!
Has anyone made any online orders with Elan, Ammara Khan, or Faraz Manan recently that they could comment on?

A friend of mine (in the UK) contacted Nomi Ansari for a bridal outfit, she suggested meeting with him if he was free to meet because he was in London at the time. She didn't tell him her budget or anything, just asked for date when he was free or whether he could make her anything. Nomi replied that he did not want to make her anything because she probably couldn't afford him.
So yeah, I think he's a bit of an ass. I love his outfits but would never give him a single penny of mine. Waaayy too arrogant.
