The reason these so called designers screw ppl over is bc they get ppl to put down deposits and once ppl put dwn the deposit they are stuck with the designer and ppl end up gettin wutever the designer gives them even if its crap like the outfit's pix posted here (no offense) but this outfit is not even worth wearing to sumone's wedding as a guest. it looks like an experiment done at home for a young grl doesnt look anything like or close to the original one. and for that price she's crazy. im not a big fan of the indian lehngas but id rather wear the indian style lengas over this anyday.
she hasn't apologised ONCE to my friend nor has she submitted the receipt for the DHL payment which she said she would to prove that it cost $130 (none of us can believe a 2 lb package would cost that much).
I use two different people in Karachi for my clothing orders - the first guy sent a package through some local Pakistani company - took about two weeks to arrive and the package was 40 lbs (we were shopping for 5 girls) - it cost 11,000rps and the last leg of the delivery (from Dubai to YYZ) was through Fedex.
The second package was from Fedex all the way from KHI to YYZ - it cost under 12,000 rps - it was sent on 1/31/09 and arrived in my home on 2/2/09 - the second package weighed 9 kgs (19 lbs).
SGC.. that is absolutely HORRIBLE !!! Th purple patchwork is horrid! It looks like something my cousins in PAK in Home Ec had to make !
SOMETHING must be done about vendors for clothes/makeup/photo etc that do this to brides !! Of all the days when they know that this is their important day, why would you cheat someone out of their hard earned money and cause so much stress and anxiety !! No wonder half the time brides are so high strung cuz getting screwed by SOMEONE is inevitable !!!!
Hey, if she really needs a dress (your friend) I'll loan her mine !! :)
i'd write to the local papers there or local fashion magazines, someone should stand up to these designers it's a serious matter when it comes to a girl's bridal clothing and just because ppl live in the west doesn't mean they are made of money.
so after 15 emails asking for a refund, someone from HH's office emailed my friend back to say refunds are not part of their policy. i like how they come up with these things on the fly- you'd think this is the kind of info they'd make obvious to everyone, considering how many unhappy clients they've had to deal with. more and more people they've spoken to are talking about what a nightmare this woman and her so-called business are!
If this had happened with me i'd make that woman's life a living hell! Thank god I didn't order any dresses from her. I hope ur friends get a great wedding dress in time.
sgc, publish your story everywhere you can....... or ask ur friend to.
forums, facebook groups, papers, MOST effective would be if you can get a video uploaded onto youtube and send it to all the news channels. or get them to do an interview with you....
She has done such a bad job on the outfit that she should be ashamed of herself not make silly things. $1000 is nothing for her as she has a business that is worth more than that. Don't people realize that. hmmmmmf...........
I'd also contact all the asian mags in your country (sorry I don't know where you're based), I'm sure they'd be happy to do a write up on bad experiences with your designers
I can't believe they did this with you. I really feel for you. Thankyou so much for sharing your experience with us as this has stopped me from placing an order with them or trusting any site to place order on. Now I will just go myself and get their clothes copied from my own tailors. :)
The pic you wanted looks nothing like the one they sent you. They clearly use cheap imitations and knock-offs and cheat their customers! These big designers look for cheap tailors to make their clothes when they get a lot of orders. Certain clothes have to have special techniques of stictching on them...and these techniques are unknown to local tailors - and they create a mess and the clothes come apart after a single wear.
Are they refusing to take the outfit back and refund you?
I reckon they are outsourcing excess orders to other kaam wale and tailors and passing it off as their own...
After this and many other horror stories and experience, I am going to stick to getting copies made too :)
