Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
there are many others pashtoons on the forum (for example :*** golden scorpion, assweetas, black mamba, wran alak, salsa, cute sponge, lazy daisy, bizz)*** thanks for including me, kho zama zra pukhtoon day, za ne pukhtu yama ...
can you explain what is "merely pathans"??
Never encountered the above people on this forum. They may be Pathans but not Pashtuns. Pathans are an "Indianized" specie ...They are no longer Pashtuns...The term has assumed negative connotations used for people not not showing loyalty to Pashtun Culture and political sovereignty...
I am surprised to know that you are European. Probably, we met somewhere (taking clue from pekhawar kho pekhawar day kana...).
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Now who are you to decide who is a real pathan or who is not? ![]()
PS Many afghans don’t consider paki pathans as true pashtun either.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
it is not me saying that...its the general view that has developed over the years...as for the second point, unfortunately, there are some Pashtuns having undergone Dravidianization...so Afghans view may be valid this minority...
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Who are you to say Afghans dont consider Pashtuns of pakistan as true pashtuns? My father is a Pakhtun from Nangarhar Afghanistan and my mother is a Pakhtana from Pekhawar valley. We are very proud of our Afghan heritage and we despise “pathans” and other dark smelly greasy pakistanis. not all..only the ones who try to create a difference between the two, when in reality there isnt. Forget all those pathans because they are like garbage, a waste, worthless. Many pakhtuns in pakistan have strong ties to pakhtun in afghanistan. so what are you talking bout? you stupid dhaal-khor puss paki. Dont ever make a statement which you do not know about.
za pakhtun yem, afghan yem…pakhtunwali pejanam..khudai manam…punjabyan or dhal khor pakistanyaan na manam. khudai pamaan
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
A very sad example of pashtun dramabazi.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
I gave a link of just one of the many sites but apparently maddy doesn’t like sites to be “advertised” when even the links prove a point!
Haha
You pashtun fascists make me laugh. You hate certain people of your own race kinda like balochis who hate makranis etc while claiming to have a united baloki front against outsiders! ![]()
And oh, you don’t get six feet tall as in my case by eating nothing!
And actually in pakistan, I’ve seen pathans eat less nutritous food like roti with piyaz etc (nothing to disrespect them for if they are hardworking honest people) so I dunno where are you getting your information?
even in the pathans in the army are like “tinkas” these days!
Akhrotzai mentality at its best! ![]()
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Some people honestly need to get over themselves and their ancestory. Historical stories won't help them in the modern world. Education and human decency will.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
^ How do you plan to do that?
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
To be honest I'm not planing on doing anything. People have to change from within.

These Hindostanis and Punjabis will be arms in arms with their Sikh and Hindu "blood brothers" but even the thought of us uniting with our brethren gets their skid marked gandiji-dotis in a twist, they'll try every lame trick up their sleeve to seperate us but it's not going to work because we're not stupid, we know we are one, our mother tongue is one, our nation our ethnicity is one, our culture and traditions are the same, our heritage is the same, we have the same heroes, poets, warriors, kings..
Pashtuns in Pakistan don't have an Indian heritage and we'll never accept Indian culture, we are Afghans with a very strong culture and a rich heritage, Pashtuns are the only Afghans whichever country they live in, though Dari is a sister language of Pashto, Dari speakers in Afghanistan are not Afghan because Afghan means Pashtun and speakers of Dari and related dialects have their own native country's to the north and west.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
when i was getting married my inlaws asked me 'are you pathan?' i said NO. i am from hazara, and i am from a tribe which descends from the utmanzai tribe. our founding father (i guess thats what you can call him) was given land by ahmed shah abdali/durrani himself. so we generally consider ourselves to be pathan. HOWEVER, i saw an ugly side of pathan culture when i went to peshawar a few years ago. the pathans of the west have a hard time admitting that those in hazara are pathans. after that i denounced my pathan heritage and called myself HAZARAWAL and i am damn proud of it. when i was approached by pathans for marriage i was very against it. i didnt want anything to do with pathans, i was happier associating with punjabis because they have less of a prejudice with the people of hazara. i ended up marrying the pathan because he too doesnt believe in this division which has been set up between the east and west parts of NWFP. recently a thread was closed in the cricket section in which someone named cutesponge said that those who speak hindko are not pathans. well, i know a whole tribe of alizais who would argue with him/her but not me. i speak hindko fluently and i speak enough pushto to get by in peshawar and charsadda. i didnt know that being of a certain culture included a heavy lesson in linguistics. i'm proud of hazara and its beauty. i am neither punjabi nor pathan and i am damn proud of it.

Tell that to a daalkhor or punjabi if there is one on this site who cares!
And don't bull**** buddy!
Your own brothers in afghanistan choose to speak dari and it is not just limited to non-pashtuns but even educated pashtuns rather speak dari!
PS Now you can get why you folks are called akhrotzais!
Many of you are so full of yourselves!
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
^
You seem to know quite a bit about pakhtoons, any inside family link maybe? or those made up links still floating your mind.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Be quiet paki. You made yourself look like an idiot.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Nice try. You pathans have been in bed with the punjabis since day one. This is all dramabazi to keep Pakistan under your control by pretending to be not part of the army establishment but working for them secretly. Those of us from Karachi still remember the Punjabi Pukhtun Ittehad thugs.
Go preach about your heritage to somebody who cares.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
You must be another one of those intellectual giants from Afghanistan.
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
NAT..I can narrate you countless stories of similar things happening in everywhere from Karachi to Lahore to urdu speaking pathans..I could mention my meeting with the Afghans of Kasur who settled thre two hundred years ago..complaining to me of how they are considered foreigners to this day..or of a distant relative whose family settled in karachi decades agi and married locally yet are constantly derided for being backward pathans by local urdu speakers..many pashtuns distinguish pathan and pashtun/pakhtun..a pathan is anyone of pashtun desecent..being pashtun is someone who speaks the language (and some would argue a style of living..as I know hindko speakers and urdu speakers who are called pakhtun because they act in the traditional manner of a pashtun)
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
Funny you live in the same country, serve in taliban ("Paki" ISI proxy), have no qualms about using pak money (for your own use) and using their passport yet you call me one?
Abbey akhrotzai, I have more morals and "spine" than you ever have!
If it weren't for mouhajirs, pakistan wouldn't even get far as much as it is today!
Ungrateful lazy "sons of the soil" like palis! :o
Re: Rahmaan Baba..Poet of the Pukhtuns
zakk,
did u know that hindko originated in gandhara? i didnt know. just found out today. by the way, i spent some time in kohat and was just wondering...what do they call all these people in kohat who are hindko speakers? are they pathan or are they pushtoon? or are they both or neither?
