Anyways.. so is baby shower only for first baby or do they have em for the second ones too? unless its a diff gender?
My bhabhi's family threw her a baby shower and i dont remember anybody from our side poo-pooing about it..and u know..we're typical desis. :p
How many of you had them or have planned them or attended any? Please share some ideas, how tos and dos and don'ts.
As far as Pakistan's god bharaii is concerned it is a typical hindu ritual and people do weird things in this ritual.But as far as american baby shower I don't think its something religious, its something kind of a party like people have grill parties.So its just helping the mom-to-be so she doesn't buy extra things which people have already gifted her.

As far as I know Gooad-Bhariee is not related to Hindu Religion although it came from India dominated by Hindus of course.

Sara, in the US, the proper ettiquette is to have the baby shower only for the first baby since the parents are just starting out. Its usually not a norm for second type parents but people do other stuff such as diaper parties or a party where they bring frozen food stuff for the parents to freeze and use after the baby.

^ Or they do mommy-pampering showers, like a spa day or something similar, just to something soothing and relaxing for the mommy
