Baby making

Ok, so i want to try for another baby in about 6months time, maybe 4. The problem is i’v recently put on about 12 pounds, im a small person so 12 pounds on my frame looks alot! So im thinking of losing that extra weight before we decide to actively start trying, however my hubby thinks thats not a good idea. After my second child my periods have become really light and i guess he thinks dieting may affect that and our chances of having another baby. I could really do with some advise, what do you guys think? should i go ahead and lose that extra weight(its making me feel really uncomfortable) before trying for a baby?

Re: Baby making

it's better if you become fit and lose weight before another baby.....i was unfit and my pregnancy ended up in a miscarriage.

Sorry to hear that Hareem, it must have been tough.I know the feeling because i had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy too. Although i was physically fit at that time, mentally i was all over the place so i guess thats what i put it down to. Overall im not overweight, but i feel soo big and bloaty.I'm thinking would it be worth losing that 12 pounds in 2 months only to put it back on again in a few months later?(INSHALLAH) Also i heard from someone not to diet 6 months before trying to concieve...but at the same time i dont feel comfortable and dont want to have this extra weight to lose after the baby!

Re: Baby making

well I was way over weight before my pregnancy and I lost 15 kilos (30 pounds) during pregnancy, and reached my ideal weight, so its not right that u allways gain during pregnancy.
but I would not worry about this extra weight, its not good to diet if u want to become pregnant, just eat more healty.

Wow..you lost 30 pounds whilst you were pregnant! did you diet? If you dont mind me asking was your baby a healthy weight?

I gained a total of 10 kilos during my 8 months pregnancy. But all 10 kilos were lost within 2 weeks after my c section. It varies from person to person as each and every pregnancy is different same is the case with our bodies.

what i have read and learned that your body needs to be strong for a healthy pregnancy and in my view dieting can make ur body weak. i would suggest you to eat healthy (like non fried & veges etc) & dont go on a diet and make ur body and immune system strong as pregnancy makes a woman's immune system weak. I dont want to scare u but I can give u my own example I wasn't fed & treated well during my pregnancy and I ended up with 3 viruses in my body which almost cost me my life and resulted in preterm birth of my baby.

perfectly heathly mashallah, little over 6 pounds of weight.

well I wasnt dieting during pregnancy, I just couldnt eat much, and it was such a task to eat dinner, so I just took milk .. maybe thats why.

with my second pregnancy I only lost 15 pounds during pregnancy, again it was not aim to lose, infact I wanted to gain and it was not easy to hear my doc saying everytime that I should eat more, which I tried, its just I had lost appetite for all food except fruits and salads.

I agree with diamond here.
