No one knows what happens after death. Most of the ‘views’ are mere speculations.
If you believe dead people are ‘alive’ in another state of being, then go ahead and ask away. If you believe dead people are dead and can’t do anything until the day of judgement, then don’t go to graves and ask for help.
In either case, please don’t call the opposing view as kafir, mushriq, non-muslim, etc.
