I come from a similar family. They even though subconsciously want a boy to which I reply - What if I have a girl? Will I have to give it up for adoption? Then they regress and say well we didn't mean it 'that' way. We just want a healthy baby :p Anyways it is how the society is in Pak and most other places. The message that Muhammad saw delivered hasn't sunk in just yet.
