Thought I'd revive this thread for the benefit of those like me who're getting into Bulleh Shah's poetry. Unfortunately, I still find it hard to understand the wording of many of his poems but the following verse is something I read recently and it got me hooked to explore further...
I realize this is pretty simple punjabi and I'm interested in similar poems/verses to get started...
Aasmanan tey urhde panchi waikh te sahi ki kardey nay
Na o kardey rizq zakhira, na o pukhay merday nay
Kadi kisey ne pankh pakheru pukhey merday wekhey nay?
Banday e kardey rizq zakhira, banday e pukhey mrday nay...

KKF bhai, this verse is extremely simple punjabi and therefore, I can attempt to transliterate it into Urdu - although it somewhat loses its raw appeal... here it is:
AasmaaN pey urhte panchi dekho to sahi kya karte heiN
Na woh kartey rizq zakhira, no woh bhookey marte heiN
Kabhi kissi ne panchioN ko bhookey marte dekha hai?
Bande hee karte rizq zakhira, bande hee bhookey marte heiN.
