Well there are a lot of other things that are also not mentioned in the email that you get when you first join GS
For example; what kind of egg should we take for breakfast , half boiled or hard boiled, or the color of the shirt that we should wear on Saturday - These GS guys dont really do a good job at informing people about EVERY topic under the sun. They assume (Khama khaaa) that the new guppies who join will have an IQ of at least something in double digits to figure out a few things on their own.
anyway keep reminding them and maybe they will improve
As far as old threads are concerned, reviving them is not HARAM
but make sure it is being done for a valid reason, not just because you feel so BAD for the thread because no one has posted in it for a year, so you should bump it up just for fun.
As far as opening new birthday threads are concerned, I dont support opening threads by the dozen. It is something similar to walking down the street and asking everyone for their ID, then as soon as you realize that its their birthday , you start hugging and backslapping them right there - just because its their birthday… and you (or them) have never even met before…
If you soooo want to make people feel happy, then I suggest that follow the “Charity begins at home” saying, take out the phone book and start calling every family member, friends of family members, friends of friends of family members etc etc etc. Ask each and everyone for their birth dates, make a data base of your own, and spend 2 hours everyday to wish a Happy birthday to every single person in the family (yes - the bhaanja of the mumani of the chootay mamooN ki sali ki phuppoo kay bhai kay doost ka cousin is a VERY CLOSE family friend and deserves the birthday wishes more than a spammer who posted twice on GS and then disappeared )

If you happen to be reading old threads and like something, you don’t have to bring it up. You can just smile/frown like I do. Most of those old members are no longer here and bringing up old threads just confuses the heck out of new guppies and you get “” kind of replies in the thread, which is really pointless/useless. Phir bhi, aap logon ki khushi k liye, we set the time limit to 1 year. A lot of people like to bring up old birthday threads next time someone has a birthday so that they don’t have to open a new thread and plus to revive some memories, that’s fine. As long as the cafe mods feel there is a valid reason to bring the thread up, they let it stay up. They are doing a fine job :k:
