Started with standup comedy and then by leaps and bounds went upwards just like Asif Mandvi, Kumail Nangiani etc.
Way to go!

I know that he is desi though indian but he is like kevin hart who can't hold his own against Chappelle. But then he is from the politically correct (safe!) world of nbc where we also have people like Jimmy Fallon.

Yea NBC uplifted him BIGLY. From 30 min or less to comedy channel and then he was picked for a small role of few episodes in Scrubs, then Parks and recreations and no looking behind from there. I think its a good success story nevertheless
Never to forget how much a brown person/immigrant has to work harder in showbiz lol

I've only seen him in Parks and Rec as Tom and I enjoyed his performance overall. I say good for him, it is difficult enough for brown people in American showbiz so I'm glad he is getting accolades.

True for Hassan Minhaj! In stand-ups I've only seen Homecoming King on Netflix and it was really enjoyable.
Aziz Ansari show is also on my list. There is something about his voice though, too nasal maybe.

I don't find him that funny, Kumail's better. Russell Peters used to be good but he keeps recycling the same old race jokes.
