If you took summer off and planning fall off too, why dont just go to PAK and live there till he gets his paperwork done?

we both thought and planned too but someone over here mentioned that since he’s male, admin process may take some time after interview and I don’t want to say another good bye and come back alone. Good byes always hurt.

So change your plans and don't take the fall semester off. If there's any loose ends to tie up on your side, then do it now while you've got the chance.

chill baby, enjoy your time. you will inshaAllah spend your rest of the life with your husband. involve yourself in activities like community work, take extra courses. increase your friend list. NVC usually takes 20 days to respond your application and scheduled interview within two month. so you are almost done with your part of paper work. now your husband just need to know interview date and couple of necessary documents like medical, and marriage proof to show at Islamabad Embassy. Dont feel blue.

all documents are ready. Just waiting for response from NVC and then the interview. Thanks, after reading your post, I'm felling less blue, hehe.

I know exactly what you are going through. I was away from my wife for 9 months and it was the hardest 9 months of my life. At one time I was ready to leave my job here in the US and live in Pakistan. The best way to cope with it is to pray as much as you can and have your hubby pray as well and ask Allah to give both of you the strength to face this temporary separation and to unite you soon..ameen

Not trying to make you more miserable but you might want to consider spending some time with him in Pakistan since it takes more time for a male to be approved for a US visa than a female since there is admin processing after the interview. In some instances it could take up to a year after the interview.

Any idea how long does it take to pass the admin process and why they don't do it during background check? Admin process is part of background check, right?

I can understand every second of your life dear, I have gone through the same situation for 18 months… It was very difficult for me to spend my life without him… You have mashAllah a very good susraal, mine was just ok- few people changed after he left, too… I had to cope up with the situations, I used to cry over nights in my room, leaving no one know about what I am going through!! But MashAllah now I am here with my Hubby- we laugh, we fight, we argue and we enjoy best times together…but he is my World! my precious asset-

Thanks queen. That’s what we do, laugh, argue, fight like we’ll never see each other and my hubby always says that we’ll have fights for the rest of our life. But these fights keep us more close to each other. If we don’t have fight/argument, it feels something is missing in our relationship, hehe. I’m living with my parents right now since he’s in Pakistan. Just need your prayers

Queen, I read your blog. Gosh, you made me cry. I'm missing him more than ever now. Before our wedding, I thought 3 months is enough time to be with him and I won't miss him as much as everyone is telling me, but oh dear, I was not even outside of Pakistan(I had to catch international flight from Karachi and he's in Islamabad), I was missing him badly within couple of hours away from him. I cried on the phone and all the people in the waiting area were staring at me and one of the aunties actually asked me if I was a newly wed, lol. I can't hide my feelings at all. Within seconds, people will know if I'm sad or happy.

he will be here soon. but these days and time time won't come back to you. so spend this time in doing something.. finishing your college.

i am in the same boat.. got married in nov 2012.. we only spent about 3 weeks together, i came back in dec.

it's been 9 months for us. and it takes about 26 months for spouses to enter our land.

i am not sure if i miss him like you do lol. i already knew that i had to wait this much time for him to come here. so i guess i am emotionally strong enough to wait for him. and i am working in my field, finishing my degree while taking night school. and spending lovely time with my family ( mum and dad.. which i might not get a chance to do once my husband is here..coz we will be moving in a new place )

so just enjoy this time with your family and inshaAllah he will be here soon for you :)

Sorry but no. Background check is done through a different agency (fbi) admin review is done through state dept.

For the time its taking these days you might want to check out vj or visajourney

Update: Called NVC early this morning 5:30.a.m. which was 7:30.a.m. EST, my case has been completed. September interview scheduling is done and was asked to call them back in the third week of September if we still won't hear anything for the interview in October, yay! It's getting there. Thanks for the support guppies. And JK, Thanks. I did register on Visa Journey, great source. Doosron ki stories parh k dil ko tasali hoi hai, hehe.

There is also a feature there where you can look at the average times its taking a specific country. Might want to look into that and good luck! I hope you are united with your spouse soon.

Yay, congratulations. Ya, NVC told me too to call them on 17th. Since that would be the last day to schedule interviews. Operator said its 15th of every month but since it's Saturday so 17th. Would be lat day to schedule. Hopefully, we both we'll be able to make it in October. All the best to both of us
