Aamir Khan is having blockbuster New Year and Christmas for continous three years now. The Bollywood actor new release Three Idiots which opened on Thursday for pblic has grossed an overall Rs. 9 crores on day 1, more than Rs. 2 crore than his 2008 movie, Ghajani.
Three Idiots is produced by Vinod Chopra productions and distribted in partnership with Reliance Big Pictures, this movie is made on an estimated budget of Rs. 35 crore. Three Idiots ia an Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor starrer. The movie has been released worldwide with 1894 prints of which 344 released outside India.
An analyst said “The movie has opened very well. It is too early to say whether it will be the biggest blockbuster of the year but the opening is comparable with Aamir’s last year’s blockbuster, Ghajini,”
Most of theatres and Multiplexes were running houseful on day one.
“This could be one of the best openings of a movie this year in terms of theatrical revenues. Going by the advance booking numbers, we believe the movie will continue to get similar response for the next few days,” PVR CEO said.
Producer of the film Vidhu Vinod Chopra said “We are getting an overwhelming response and it’s too early to even put words to the kind of response we are getting. In Australia, multiplexes have reduced shows of the movie, Avatar, and increased shows for Three Idiots. Aamir is a special actor and he has proven that he is very good at the box office,”
Aamir Khan is htting Hatrick for the last three years with super hits, in 2007 Tare Zameen Par, it was his own production, in 2008 Ghajani movie is earned record revenues.
