For the entertainment value i will rate 3 Idiots above avatar, for everything else (cinematography, visual effects etc) avatar is above all the movies made till date.

i really enjoyed 3 idiots.

3 idiots MINUS Kareena MINUS songs = A very good movie
Avatar = Revolutionary breakthrough in cinema. For God's sake, dont compare it with 3 idiots!!

I watched 3 idiots and found it to be a good movie....not exceptionally great but nevertheless a decent movie. It was exaggerated and had unrealistic scenarios. Although had a humorous approach. But aside all that, the movie had a wonderful message. Aamir Khan pulled it off quite well....considering his actual age 44 or something? Kareena was just OK.
