Australia in India

ICC trophy is over. This is the next big thing on cricket calender.

Aussies are going to do anything to win this series .Media is calling it Last Frontier. This great Australian team has beaten every test team in their backyard except Indians.
Infect they have not won a series in India since 1969-70.Some how AUS bring best out of Indians in TEST cricket.

Here is the schedule !!!

30 Sep - 2 Oct v Board President's XI Hyderabad
6-10 Oct 1st Test Bangalore
14-18 Oct 2nd Test Chennai
26-30 Oct 3rd Test Nagpur
3-7 Nov 4th Test Mumbai

Tighten your belt, this is going to be one cracking Series.

GO AUSTRALIA!

india will be looking for a chance of redeeming their position, cant wait for the outcome of the series. 4 tests :smack:

This series is not being hyped as it was supposed to be, indians have really dissapointed their supporters, i think they got complacent and too big headed after Pakistan series and ganguly blasting his players is not fair, he hasnt played a decent knock in a big game for a while now, no doubt he is a good captain but he needs to step up also, aussies wont want irfan to embaress them and irfan will be up to the challenge, hes probably just glad afridi is not in aussie team, n e wayz i hope this series lives up to the bill, but judging by recent matches india will have to really step up, maybe sehwag can get his 200 in this series!

:hehe:

After that match with PAK, Ganguly is reported to have said that established players should not take their place in the side for granted. I hope he included himself in that list. He has hardly done anything of note himself with the bat.

I hope that flat track bullies dont succeed in this series...because it will be good for India in the long-term if they are shown the door.

Also, Agarkar (as he always does) came up with a good performance(against PAK) just when he was all set to be given the final Good Bye.
This means we will continue to see him during the Aussie series.
Its a pity that a player (like Agarkar) who has not been able to establish his place after 7-8 years of playing at the international level still gets his chances while new players are kicked into oblivion if they fail in 2-3 matches( cases in point - SS Das, Tinu Youhanan, Amit Bhandari...to name a few).

Re: Australia in India

I would like to tighten my seatbelt but the Car ur talking about isn’t registered yet officially

** The hearing will now go ahead on Monday, although with barely a fortnight to go until the first Test gets underway at Bangalore on October 6, time is rapidly running out for the three parties – the BCCI, Zee and ESPN-Star Sports – to reach a settlement.**

I hope these buggers will solve the matter well before it’s beyond any apropriate time-frame for any of ZEE or ESS to cover the series :smack: :smack: :smack:

India is on knees and praying for Tendulkar to be fit for the series :hehe: .

No doubt this will be tough series .

wish, PCB tells the same to each and every player of our team...

THE MOTHER OF ALL TEST SERIES....now we will see test cricekt at its best...i have been waiting for this series over a year now....it is good to see ponting unfit because now both teams are leveled as sachin is not playin for india in the first test match....I really really want Indians to Kick Asussies ASSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssssssssss as hard as possible....i wish Inida wins the series 4-0 and make fun of aussies.....it may be a wishful thinking though..anyway GO INDIA ( only for this series.....)

I wish the Indians are buried alive in their own backyard. Looking at the teams' respective forms, I would say that is very possible.

you guys acutally watch test matches? i can't stand them even if pak is playing so watching india/aus is out of the question. they're so boring so i stick w/ the one days

Warne has plans for India](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Warne has plans for India)

Star spinner Shane Warne has devised a trick or two for India’s batsmen in an effort to lead Australia to a rare Test series win in that country.
The Aussies have not won a five-day series in India since 1969, and Warne himself has never been successful there despite his excellent overall record.

“I have been whacked around in the past in Tests here since Indians are very good players of spin,” Warne said.

“But I have a few plans for them. We have a good chance this time.”

Warne is just five scalps short of injured Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan’s Test record of 532 wickets.

And he was quick to offer excuses for his past efforts in India, where six Test matches have yielded 20 wickets at an average of 52.

“I had a shoulder injury in 1998 and was recovering from a finger operation in 2001,” Warne said.

“But I am in peak fitness now, and since this is likely to be my last Test tour of India, I really want to do well.”

Both sides have injury concerns, with both Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar set to miss the first Test at Bangalore starting on 6 October.

Adam Gilchrist, who will deputise for the absent Australia captain, was given a vote of confidence by paceman Brett Lee.

“Adam is a fantastic captain and has a great cricket brain, one that can do the job for us,” Lee said.

Australia have bitter memories of their last tour of India in 2001.

They were hot favourites to land the three-Test series when they led 1-0 and enforced the follow-on in the second Test at Calcutta.

But Steve Waugh’s side were thwarted by VVS Laxman’s epic 281, which turned the match and the series around as India went on to win 2-1 with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh bagging 32 wickets.

yes - it will be - remember last time how Sachin spanked the hell out of Warnie on the sub-continent pitch? man - that was some whooping

but still without Sachin - i think India has a good chance - right now i am thinking a draw in this 4-test game series.

i'm supporting india in this one, i'm sick of watching australia dominate test and one day cricket + aussies haven't defeated india away from home for 35 years i think so a record needs protecting.

india all the way.

^ same here. I hope Indians can inflict similar defeat to australia or probably a humiliating one but with current scenario thats too much to ask for.

Indian still continue to have problem with their batting. In a practice match against India A,Indians were 155 for 9.if they cant bat againt Amit Bhandair and Murali Kartik then Gilesspie/Macgrath/Warne would be too much for them.

They better get in form soon Or it will be 4-0.

Only Ganguly seems to be in some kinda touch but then he always scores against Mediocre attacks.

some trick to kick someone out of competition? :hehe:

Jaheer Khan (Gavasker eshtyle) is back, is he ? If yes then its a good news foor India although they will depend on spinners and part timers i guess !

damn i torn over this one...... I hate both teams lol
If Jaheer plays I hope the Aussies spank him good, the guy is such a jak. But then again who wants the Aussies winning everything.
I think the Indians should be ok, they always bat so well at home, plus Kumble will do a lot of damage.
If I were India, I would seriously consider dropping Yuvraj and Sehwag for younger guys, theres enough good young batsmen in India. Why not give someone else a shot?

That said, I don't know about you guys, but for me test cricket is only to look at the scorecard. I would never watch it........ Well maybe Pakistan vs India..
