Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Steven Smith won the toss and chose to bat in the fourth Test at the SCG, where India made four changes to their line-up in an attempt to end the series on a high.
Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma were all left out, with Rohit Sharma back in the team and Suresh Raina and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in for the first time in the series. As expected, MS Dhoni’s retirement meant that Wriddhiman Saha returned to the side after playing in Adelaide.
Rahul’s inauspicious debut at the MCG was forgiven by the selectors and he is listed to open with M Vijay, with Rohit expected to come in at No.3 in place of Pujara. Raina is on the team sheet at No.6, nearly two and a half years after he last played Test cricket against New Zealand in Bangalore.
The return of Bhuvneshwar, who has battled an ankle injury on this trip, will be a boost for India as he should be able to make the most of any swing available, especially on an overcast first morning.
Australia had announced their XI on the eve of the match and there were no late changes, with Mitchell Starc in for Mitchell Johnson, who has a minor hamstring injury.
Australia 1 Chris Rogers, 2 David Warner, 3 Shane Watson, 4 Steven Smith (capt), 5 Shaun Marsh, 6 Joe Burns, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Ryan Harris, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Josh Hazlewood, 11 Nathan Lyon.
India 1 M Vijay, 2 KL Rahul, 3 Rohit Sharma, 4 Virat Kohli (capt), 5 Ajinkya Rahane, 6 Suresh Raina, 7 Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 8 R Ashwin, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 Mohammed Shami, 11 Umesh Yadav.

I don't get the Pujara drop. He got one bad decision. And maybe one great delivery. Overall he has held up quite well. Why Nohit?

Indian slip cordon continues to have brick hands. I read Rahul dropped an easy catch at 2nd slip.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Saha is there in the team.

More than enough for a yet another fiasco. :smack:

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Great century by Warner. Aussies are scoring with some pace. like almost 4.5 av. If indians hvnt got a wicket in 43 overs its fine. but not getting a wicket in almost 200 runs is something they should get bothered about.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

189/0 in 42.2 Overs.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Breaking news. Indian slip fielder takes a catch.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Regardless of this game Saha is a far superior keeper than Dhoni. And can't do much worse overseas in batting - the recent England tour being an exception for Dhoni

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Rogers out for 95. Bowled Swami

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Here comes India Killer Steve Smith

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Misfield to let Watson off the mark. Nice.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

All India has to do is to get to Hazelwood. And that's when the tail begins.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Bringing in Raina when Watson looks shaky not a good move

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Tail enders are the problem for India.Let these top order batsmen bat ,score some runs and declare.:D

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

In that case India is in control of the game!

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

I heard Indians like to watch some shaking n baking..

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

^ no comments, El Sid.

Watson made merry of Raina. Git started with some "lusty" hits.

Raina is developing a paunch. Showed in his sloppy fielding. Helped out Watson with a free three of a misfield.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Yes. :D

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Raina gifts Watson with a short ball outside leg - off spin. Watson accepts gift nicely. And regains lost form.

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

If any player wants to regain form...just play against India.. :D

Re: Aus v/s India 4th test - Sydney

Watson playing a different kinda inning. Very good temprament. 50 runs of 99 balls.
