For such dealing with such events, they basically need to upgrade police training. They should really follow the ever so popular and successful Western police tactic of kettling as a way of controlling as large and potentially violent demonstrations. Be it a large City or a small town, only so many routes must be approved for pre planned demonstrations and that goes for all kinds of demonstrations.

i’ve heard on the news that the ten or so police constables’ rifles were snatched and used in the pre-riot shootings. what kinda police force is that they lose their weapons. why wasn’t there a backup police force?
