I just heard about it. It happened at the largest procession in Karachi which has been attacked before.
The situation is tense.

Really sad and disgusting, rather than calling one 'Yazidi' or anything else, we know they are 'terrorists', lets keep it this way though enemy would have us call this 'Shia vs Sunni' problem. Hopefully the casualty doesn't go higher than this.

Jalti pe teil daalne ki bajae we should recompose ourselves to fight against our actual enemy. BTW, someone in News mentioned that there was a rally today at MA Jinah Road, which was opposed by Shia scholars due to security risk. What was rally all about. I read some political parties yesterday announced rally against NATO attack.

I think, those in Govt. who allowed the rally by banned organization should be taken to task and get a big kick on their behinds!!

Why on earth are they allowing banned organizations to rally that freely?

I don't think it is sectarian to call them Yazidis at all. Sunnis have always known who Yazid was.
For example the famous lines from Muhammad Ali Jauhar, a Sunni obviously:

qatl e hussain asl mein marg e **YAZID **he
Islam zinda hota he har karbala ke baad

Or Allama Iqbal:
Musa o Firaun, Shabbir o YAZID
Inn do quwwāt az hayaat aamad padid.
[Ever since the creation of life two opposing forces have been at war with each other- virtue and vice, Right and wrong. Musa (Moses) rose against Firaun (Pharoah) and Shabbir (Imam Husayn) rose against Yazid. These struggles were between the Right and the wrong. Consequently the Right prevailed upon the wrong and it was proved that Right is might.]

People who killed those innocent mourners are the only ones who try to show Yazid in positive light. Hence it is appropriate to call them Yazdis, not sunnis.

Here is a positive development:

Sources claimed that Rangers have detained an accused involved in the killing of two people. Interrogation from them was underway at the time of filing this report.

The two killed were the scouts from Bu-Turab scouts, who manage the city’s largest Muharram processions.

I just heard that police has captured a truck in Rawalpindi which was full of weapons and explosives in order to commit terrorism in Muharram. Truck driver escaped but his brother is in custody.

Really? And I thought only Shias knew who Yazid was, thank you for presenting the two shairs otherwise I would've doubted you. And as 'reminder', this is political affairs section, for "Religious" section you can call them "Yazidis" or whatever you want, for purpose of 'Pakistan' or "political' these killers are "terrorists".

In any case, I am requesting you not to move the topic in another direction. The word "Yazidi" is not the focal point of this thread. If you have problem with it then ask some moderator to change it. I don't care. But I don't agree to change it on my own.

Here is a longer version of what happened that day:

****KARACHI: Muharramul Haram began on a bitter note as two men were killed while a third was wounded when a scout camp was shot at Numaish Chowrangi on M A Jinnah Road on Sunday evening.
The incident, that occurred at about 4:30 pm sparked protests that left parts of M A Jinnah Road ablaze well into the night. Law enforcers finally managed to disperse the majority of the charged crowd by 9 pm after resorting to heavy aerial firing that left eight people injured including a television reporter.
Earlier, the Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat, formerly known as the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), held their annual Yaum-e-Omar rally at Tibet Centre. Nearby, at Numaish Chowrangi, scouts are deployed at a camp set up annually to help organise Muharram proceedings at the Shah-e-Khurasan Imambargah. As the rally dispersed and participants moved towards the roundabout and shots were fired at the camp. Scouts Zainul Abideen and Azhar Ali died instantly while Ayaz Ali was wounded. They were taken to Civil hospital. Zainul Abideen and Ayaz were with the Buturab Scouts while Azhar with theHyderi Scouts.
The reaction was immediate. People gathering at the Imambargahfor the majlis rerouted to the roundabout and the situation escalated into a protest. Assuming that the shooters were taking refuge in a masjid-cum-madrassa that belonged to the rival school of thought opposite the camp, the protesters flocked to the mosque and besieged it. They gathered the vehicles in the parking lot and set them on fire. In the havoc, fire tenders were unable to save the burning vehicles.
The Rangers, who are deployed in this sensitive corner of Saddar around the clock, cordoned-off the area and entered the mosque. It is believed that the Rangers detained 50 people from inside, including three alleged shooters, but were not able to extricate them from the mosque surrounded by the mob demanding an eye for an eye.
There were also 50-odd people inside the mosque that would have been as good as dead had the authorities left with three men in their custody. They reportedly spent hours preparing an escape route in the back and getting the people out safely. All fifty are in their custody.

If you don't want sectarianism then you should be condemning this act of sectarianism first.

And then there are those who would have time to go through all the posts in this thread, select "like" for a post, but wouldn't bother to pay a few words of respect for those martyred by the takifiri terrorists of Sipahe Sahaba.
