Peace AlexBIt has nothing to do with that ... That would be the concept of fitrah ... The concept I was referring to is in Islam the fact that someone chooses to deny God they are putting themselves in the place of God in which case "your God" according to Islam is your own intellect - or the fact that you ascribed characteristics to your intellect that would otherwise be ascribed to God - you in effect become your own God. Atheist may mean something in the way of not believing in a Deity, but essentially we say that you have deified your self, to which you will disagree from your perspective you - an atheist, exist ... from our perspective you are just a Mushrik (person who associates partnership or replaces God)
To that I say, never underestimate the power of carefully worded nonsense a.k.a bu*s*I
Re: Atheists Please Answer
that is a good summation of a concept in islam.

Not at all. The atheist worldview does not need a concept of deity of any kind, and acceptance of limitations of the human intellect is a basic tenant. It's not based on faith, but routed in epistemology - the human knowledge is fundamentally imperfect. So, no self-deification takes place. Any true atheist will tell you that our knowledge of the Universe is imperfect and we can try our best to understand it using logic and experiment, but we do not need to make the answers up and believe that they are the absolute truth revealed to us by our benevolent imaginary friend. There is nothing more harmful to an intelligent quest than self-delusion. In fact your argument is a perfect example of applying a theist methodology to an atheist philosophy, inevitably leading to misconception.
Re: Atheists Please Answer
It is not possible to have proof for if God exists or not. It is a matter of belief. I am a rather spiritual agnostic. I don’t believe in a personal God that punishes my sins etc. But I do believe in dynamical systems and that our actions can come back to haunt us (I don’t know if they always do).

In response to AlexB, post # 47:
Secular humanism, spiritual humanism, religious humanism, this is all verbiage.
If there is something within you that forces you to follow a certain code of conduct, that something is God.
One can never become a complete person, the extraordinary and marvelous person he is meant to be, through any other route. Pathway to God is the Only pathway to success.
Denying God is denying self ...

I am curious to know as to what your definition of God is.
Re: Atheists Please Answer
Problem with me is that if God is not there then we all came into existence from nothingness, literally. Big Bang theory claims that universe started from nothingness. Even from atheist point of view, that belief should be crazier than the belief that there is a creator.
i think you need something to start the big bang. so the argument that it came from nothingness is sheer ignorance in my view.
Re: Atheists Please Answer
Ask my choti and she will tell you "Allah cannot be created. He has not father or mother or children. He doesn't feel hunger. He can see you mama, but you can't see him."
I rather live with being safe than sorry. Let's say I'm really the scientific types, I say what if there really truly is an Allah...why would I want to miss out on that possibility? It's not that hard.
what if its Zeus sitting at the top of everything? and you did not believe in him. and then you will regret that too
Re: Atheists Please Answer
Cheers to that.
You don't need an ancient book to teach today's modern man that we shouldn't be raping and killing our neighbors.

Re: Atheists Please Answer
Just like there is a belief that there is God, there is also a belief that there is no God.
Those who believe in God have reasons and those who do not, have their reasons.
It is a long discussion and in reality, waste of time,...... but for fun its OK to engage in this discussion. :)

That is one loaded question heheh
Let me ponder on it.
Re: Atheists Please Answer
Of course both are beliefs but with different fundamental approaches and hence cannot be equated. I think Sam Harris explains it best in the following video:
