I’m posting this here b/c I need responses asap and since so many people come here, I figured I’d post this here. I’m changing service providers within the next few days most likely and need opinions. Do any of you currently have(or have had) At&t in the past? If so, how were they? I have Sprint right now and am getting rid of it.
Also, I was looking at At&t phones at 1800mobile.com and they had Motorola T720 and T721. They both look the exact same to me…prices are the same too. But on Motorola T721, they wrote that the talk time is 7 hours. And in Motorola T720, talk time is about 3 hours. Do any of you have this phone? If so, how is it? And is that the only diff. b/t those two phones?
Sony Ericsson T68is also looks cute…anyone using that? Ummm…this may sound stupid but what exactly is bluetooth technology?
it also depends where you live..but i have T mobile and i like it..for 39.99 i get 600 anytime minutes plus unlimited nights and weekends
..no roaming or long distance either
att isnt bad either..they have similar plans...720 phones r really good..alot of ppl are carrying it now...you can buy the same phone for Tmobile as well
Blue tooth is a wireless technology, using which your phone can interface with other B/T capable devices... e.g. you can use a wireless headset etc
AT&T is ok.. really depends on which area you live in. For cellular companies the most important thing is cellphone reception, then prices, phones and customer service. So, check from other people in your area.
For phone information, you'll just have to wait for someone more knowledgable. :)

AT&T is awful. Avoid them. Verizon has the best network of towers.

Verizon must have really improived their service over the last 2 years then, i still remember when having a verizon phone meant u had to use a phone booth :)
I have been an at&T customer for 4 years and have been happy with reception, quality of service, but not excited about their phones.
I hated sprint, their service sucked..but that was 6 years ago.
used nextel for a few months, was a phone given by a client for the project and I loved Nextel.
Verizon really has the best service in our area, comparatively speaking. Re: phones, since AT&T's new Next Generation Network is GSM based so they are able to get all kinds of new cool phones, similar to T-Mobile. But, yes, Sprint's PCS network snags the best and the coolest phones in the US market. Sprint's service...? Well, thats another story. My friends who were with Sprint run out of curse words describing Sprint's customer service and billing problems.
They must have Fraudia. I've just butted heads with AT&T a few times and would never recommend them. Nextel has some nice features like the walkie-talkie that goes coast-to-coast, nice. Not a fan of Sprint's towers either.
lost, depends on your location. Its best to ask people in the city you are in, which service provider is best. I used to have AT&T Wireless. I liked that you could change plans whenever you feel like it, and not be charged. They also have good customer service whenever I called them. I now use T-Mobile.
I would only go with a GSM, unlocked phone, but thats me. If I were you I wouldnt get the T68i.

I'm an idiot when it comes to technology....errrrrrr......y wouldn't u get it? The thing is I'm a sucker for cute phones....and am very picky....and this phone just looks really cute. I really want a flip phone and the other one I mentioned, that's the only At&t flip phone that I like.
Thanks a lot for the replies! :) As for location, I'm in Texas in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I've had Sprint for almost 2 years. Reception was ok but their customer service sucks big time.
Just looked at T-mobile plans and yea, their $39.99 plan sounds really good. See the thing is, a lot of people I know has Sprint. And then the rest has At&t, Verizon, and T-mobile. Everyone recommends the service they have. That's why I was hoping to get more response from here.
But yea, now I wanna hear about At&t and T-mobile.
T-Mobile is great if you have a GSM phone. They are based in Germany and recently bought out Voicestream. i.e. Voicestream is now T-Mobile.
You want a flip phone, but T68i is not a flip phone as I am sure you are aware. The main problem with phones that are not flip or that dont have a slide is that many a times they get turned on by accident, and so sometimes people get charged without knowing it, unless you lock your keys or keep it in an open space.
T68i is an old phone, and it has some quirks about it, that is why I dont suggest it. Its hard to explain without getting too technical but I will tell you that I used to sell cellular phones, and I dont recommend that one. A lot of ppl buy T68i upgrade, which is the T68 with upgraded software. You cant tell the difference if you are buying from lets say eBay or even some other sellers online, unless you really know about phones.
There are many other phones out there, which I am guessing you have not seen. I can send you to my friends website and check out all the phones he has, I will give you two websites in PM, check them both out and see if you like any, then ask your service provider if they have that phone. Before hand, tell me which one you like and I will tell you why in the cellphone biz its considered a good phone, etc.
I have Verzion. Verizon’s service is great and their customer service is good too but they are HECKA expensive!!! They’re much more expensive than AT&T even
I got this LG phone set from verizon too, its cool
[thumb=D]lg_vx10_cream.JPG[/thumb]
It looks nice and is not THAT expensive comparatively, it was abt 100 bucks…thats like 100/200 bucks less than the ones that look similar but have voice activated dialling…
AT&T phones were selling for much more from what i saw when i went to the AT&T store..
BTW why is direct dialling to Pakistan not avlbl on any cell phones? I’d be willing to pay much more monthly if only they had that service avlbl
Niqabi it would be much better for you to get a phone card and use it with your cell phone - much cheaper. Assuming that is you are like normal foreign students :). Otherwise its probably more then a dollar a min to Pakistan.
I had sprint for two years and it worked great in the major cities but now in a smaller town and verzion is the way to go. however I do agree thier plans and stuff is expensive cause the have the best service nationwide. Had them for the last year and they ahev been great
I like the rollover minutes plan with cingular cause I have so many months I dont use my mins and then there are months I go over. I hope the other companies follow suit cause that would be just awsome!
btw in alll these plans please mention your friends who have the service cause they get a $10-$30 referal bonuses.
calling cards: they are such a major hassle, u have to go to the website, buy the calling card, then u have to use it…and then u have to dial this long series of numbers, and u have to write them on a piece of paper and carry them with u…
what if u have no calling card avlbl and then u want to make a quick ph call and u have no internet nearby
besides a lot of these calling cards r sketchy, the minutes vanish and they expire in 30 days and they have hidden conexion charges etc etc
Then try 1016868 and the regular number, It charges show up as HOST communications I believe but I dont know if they work on cell phones. Their charges are reasonable as in 6.9c anywhere North America and I think 72c to pakistan. you can check out their web site at 1016868.com I believe or do a goggle for them. I use them on my home phone if I ever need to make a long distance or international call since everything else goes to the cell.

i have cingular service and i like it. and i do like the rollover minutes as well, i have about 3000 daytime minutes now.
Verizon: i had it two years ago but didn't like it's service.
Cingular: currently have it and like it. works in the whole US and canada as well.
At & T: brother has it but i don't like the service. not so good reception.

60 bucks there??? Unless you went way off your available minutes, or were making a boat-load of international calls or roaming all over the nation out side the network, there is no way your bill can be that off. For my Verizon family share plan (Two phones with 400 anytime+unlimited N&W+Nationwide roaming $60+ taxes and insurance), I can predict my bill to the nearest $1 every month.
