Are you sure that MS owns the IP? I thought that was one of the IP’s acquired by EA when they acquired Bioware.

Actually you're right - EA have the IP, they got it from Bioware when they acquired them. But apparently the deal involves Microsoft retaining exclusive publishing rights to this version of Mass Effect, as well as the next Mass Effect game.
On the other hand, EA's strategy tends to be multiplatform releases, so eventually you'll probably get a Mass Effect game on PS3. But in the meantime, Xbox owners will have played 2 Mass Effect games first! It would be like how Metal gear solid eventually game out on Xbox several years after being there for PS.

I caved in and bought Assassin's Creed on the way home :(
How is it? I'm hoping to get it in the next couple of months. I got my XBox 360 about a month back, so there are still quite a few games I want to try.

I played through the first of nine killings in about 5 hours, doing all extra quests on the way and having a throughly good time. However, i could see how it could potentially get repetitive. There were just a handful of different task types to be done along the way.
On the other hand, the feeling of awe I got when seeing Damasus laid out before me for the first time was most certainly very cool.

This game is nothing compared to Prince of Persia....requires a lot of patience and I was confused within the first 30 mins. Game is based on lame fighting but it has the best graphics I've ever seen.
I personally think Gears of War was a game that kicked ass.

Yeah the setting and atmosphere put you into the experience, and it has an amazing fight system, based on a defensive stance.
it'll be out for pc next year, but honestly, it could've been better!! much better!

I didn't buy Assassin Creed day before yesterday because the game ESRB says 17+ and I rather bought Sonic which eventually I found is 10+ as well. I have read great reviews about the game so tomorrow will try to buy from Singapore Airport!

Heavenly sword is a poor adaptation of God of War. Own it and finished it pretty fast. All it has is great cinematics and scenes, other then that, its just like God of War, Cept GOW was cooler. However heavenly sword is beefed up with more combos, and thats pretty much it. It gets a lil repetitive, but def just worth a rental.

I just started playing it last Friday. I played about an hour of it. It's fun. So far I like KOTOR better, but then again, I hardly had a chance to get into the game. So are you going to play the renegade or vanguard (I think that's what it's called)?

I think it's Renegade or Paragon. I'm going Paragon the first time round (Female Shepard, Infiltrator), then Renegade second time round (Male Shepard, Soldier).
I normally find that Bioware's storylines are optimised for the "good guy" experience, then cool to play as the "bad guy" as a what-if.
KOTOR was a good example. When I played as a Light Jedi, the final boss fight was a hard, desperate battle just like the climax of a Star Wars movie. When I played as a dark jedi.... the final battle consisted of Malak easily getting whipped by my character.
