Typically, they don't like it, and/or form low opinions of you. Its possible they will talk behind your back. But then, girls do that too you know...
Exceptions exist, so keep up the hope.

yeah but the thing is hes the kind of guy that i'm not really familiar with i only see him at weddings and stuff and i'm interested but i can't really take myself up there with to him. i don't know how hes going to react and i always think that if its gonna happen its going to happen without me having to do anything cuase of kismat but what if kismat is what you make then i'm just gonna live with a what if??? sigh i'm still confused with mixed messages i'm getting from u guys.

Who cares what other people think? Try to read his body language toward you if you wanna be on the safer side before asking. I would definitely ask a guy out 
Zamana change hogaya hai… you no longer have to wait to be asked out, proposed to, etc… theres no right or wrong approach to this type of thing, do what your heart feels is right! Hope it works out in your favor

From what I've heard, guys (at least desi guys) will consider it insecure and pathetic for a girl to go after a guy..... this is of coruse based on general consensus taht I saw overhere...
I always used to hate playing the game to try to figure out if a girl liked me or not so I would rather have them tell me upfront and maybe we could have worked something out. I just thought it was a waste of my time...
