I have come across 2 guys who were associated with political parties in Pakistan - feudal families. And I ran.
And then I have a tendency to ask guys if they have any ties with the MQM.
Especially when it comes to the MQM and their controversial policies, and massive following in countries abroad - running into people who associate with parties like MQM isn’t entirely uncommon.
Would it be a dealbreaker if the person goes to MQM jalsas in their spare time? Or if they were associated with any other political party that you don’t agree with?
Yes dealbreaker definitely. These parties are really into underhanded stuff... Look at what's going on in Karachi. Stupid tyre burning ppl have no idea what a mess their making, it's just all about the money. First hand story... My husbands cousins (2 brothers) who were never into studying, once they got out of school skipped around different jobs, we're always into controversial stuff that maybe deemed as finding loopholes in how the system works. One of them had a financial fraud case filed against him. He was always trying to get rich quick. Anyway he was recruited by MQM (I really wonder how they heard of him, maybe from the bad comPany he kept). So they offered him a salary package, better than he's ever gotten before, they gave him a piece of land (for "free"...till they come knocking for their pound of flesh), and there's nowhere he has to go to work everyday, like no office as such. Imagine that, someone who doesnt have the qualifications to get a good Job to live the lifestyle he wants and mr.mqm decides to initiate him into his crazy frat house. That's like the answer to his prayers. So they have him doing stuff like the fake voting thing that was going on in khi. He put in fake votes for all his extended family and unknown people. And now he'll be taking his younger brother in too. I wonder if they realize that once u get in u can't get out. MQM and PPP are just chors all the way, thugs at that. Allah bachaye.
So what are the MQM families doing? Are they looking for rishtas in their own MQM members? God, this is becoming ridiculous. What happens to the poor person who denies the rishta of an MQM member, do they get gunned down in Karachi? :o
There's a difference between being a supporter of a particular political party and being actively involved in party activities. The former is okay, but the latter could be a problem.

They'll need bodyguards if they visit Karachi again. I would be careful.

Not really cause my mum taught me that i should treat everyone equally despite their beliefs as islam teaches acceptance but personally i will stick to my own beliefs but i wont bring it up if i know it will offend someone unless they personally ask me.
Like once someone asked me if i believed in gay marriage i said no if they ask why i just tell them its my personal belief
Best friend was dating...altaf Hussein's niece. She apparently..lives here in Toronto. Khair..it was quiet short relationship. And yes it is deal breaker for me. MQM..is deal breaker. Other policial parties..i can care less.
Would be interesting if i ever find a girl who believes in Green Party of Pakistan. It's a minor party with no influence but lucky enough to also have a member get assassinated this year. This must be a sign of a real party.
