What a player.
Re: Asim Kamal.
yes, he is a good player and should be persisted with.
Re: Asim Kamal.
But Selectors & Woolmer dont like him .... shame on them !
Re: Asim Kamal.
He played hell of an innings. He deserve to be in the team for test matches at least.
All the other self proclaimed heros should learn something from him.
Re: Asim Kamal.
He is from karachi, may be thats y he does nt get many chances. He will have to work twice as hard as farhat, to get or retain his place in the team.
Re: Asim Kamal.
you are so intelligent, you must be from karachi as well …
jokin please do not get offended, kamal is a very good batsman and i am pritty sure will be there for some time, does need to improve his running though … farhat was given so many chances becoz he did perform very well in pakistan and we need an opener which hopefully we have found in yasir and salman, i think they should give some one atleast 5-6 matches before dropping him, and should not be brought back for least one years so that they have enough time to improve …
Re: Asim Kamal.
Khum.....in this particular case, there is a favouritism that killed chances for Asim, Butt, Bazid etc. This Imran Farhat guy is totally useless. One fifty every 6th innings confirms his place in the team. I don't know how. While Bazid, Asim, Butt and others were sitting on the bench this parchi was consistantly getting chances.
If I get a chance I will simply shoot this idiot and the ppl who name him in team.
Re: Asim Kamal.
i completely understand where you are coming from, but he is the same guy even geof boycott i am not really sure who it was commented that he might be the next saeed anwar, he has and will score on pakistani pitches and had not played enough overseas untill recently to discard him, salman and bazid were always under consideration, its really important that no one is judged over one series … i am no fan of farhat but trust me its not in interest of the team to change openers in paticular so often they should stick with salman and hameed for sometime now …
Re: Asim Kamal.
bazid will get a chance if he deserves, two very important things
our domestic level of players does not prepare players for international team ........
captain, coach and selecters are in a far betta position to judge talents and end of the day they want pakistan to win as well more than anything coz its there bread and butter so i really do not see them makin bad decisions on purpose, and someone will always be left out ............ thats life bazid did get his chance and asim as well,
bottom line if someone is good enought he will get a chance one day
just do not agree with this blame game, you cannot make everyone happy
if bazid was playin there will always be someone sayin he is there coz of his father ............
Re: Asim Kamal.
Yes Asim Kamal is one batsman who deserves a chance in the team. Imran Farhat (just like Imran Nazir in the past) got enough chances already and has failed to cement his place in the team. Now its the time we dump him and give Salman Butt and Yassir Hameed a chance to flourish as openeres. Imran Farhat is a damaad of son PCB guy and probably thats why he is in the team. Boycott had said Farhat has the best “footwork” among all Pakistani youngsters but I believe whats the use of having the best footwork if he cant stay at the wicket and make runs.
Re: Asim Kamal.
Every team needs a batsman like Asim Kamal in the middle order. He can be Pakistan's Graham Thorpe or Boetta Dippenar - a pure bread and butter run accumulator. He may not have too many shots in his bat but he can stick around and give stand to the batsmen above and below him. Sort of an anchor. I hope Pakistani selectors are visionary enough to understand his role in the team and give him a permanent #6 spot in tests.
Re: Asim Kamal.
he should also be in one team
Re: Asim Kamal.
he only contributes when team has no hopes except that innings of 99 against SA ..
he scored 70 odd against India when it was almost all over and now against Aus .. chalo played better than others atleast .. :k: ..
Re: Asim Kamal.
6 matches, 5 fifties. You can say he almost always contributes.
Re: Asim Kamal.
He is a very good player
Re: Asim Kamal.
I was thinking the same thing…but nonetheless he is a great batsmen and he definetly needs to be a part of the test team instead of Malik or Razzaq…as they r both useless in test matches.
Re: Asim Kamal.
how many times has malik failed in the last half year. That guy played with stiches in his hand and still scored 41(highest in that inning). he has a potential to become one of the better batsmen in that pakistani team is in test matches. kicking him out would be a stupididty and he could also bowl. but kicking out razzaq cud be feasable. but since this thread about is kamal. he has proven himself definetly needs to be given a chance instead of razzaq in test.
Re: Asim Kamal.
BS, don’t live upto your name
abay he plays at no. 6 and most of the time, either our openers or middle order collapse like always and he comes under pressure as the last known batsman. He always gets to bat with ch*ye tailenders, as the great great early haraz** batsmen get out and lose the match allready. That’s not his fault that he gets nobody to support him or that the match is already lost before he steps on the pitch. They need to fix the ORDER of the middle order. If Yoyo can’t take the pressure on no. 3 than move Asim ahead of either Younis or Yoyo, that is no. 3 or 4. Leave the old arses Yoyo and Inzi to bat when its all cool. That is what they are paid Rs. 200,000/month for. khassi kahein kay ![]()
Re: Asim Kamal.
Pakistan tried him at no.3 and he didnt play well…I think he should remain where he is…he has been performing well at #5 or #6 so I think we should keep him there. For now…I think Younis should remain at no.3
Re: Asim Kamal.
hes prolly the most talented of this young lot .
