Asim Kamal.

Re: Asim Kamal.

when someone gets only 1 test match at a certain position it is not called “tried”. its more like “hawa mein teer chalanay wali baat”. if they gave him a couple series atleast then we couldve said that he was “tried” at #3 position n failed.

Re: Asim Kamal.

Good player but as per our standards a bit too old (28) to be given chances, but certainly he played with guts in the second inning showing a bit of character.

Re: Asim Kamal.

^^ All the dhobees who did dhulaai in Perth, Melbourne and now in Sydney have an average age of 34. Langer, Ponting, Hyden and Martyn will still be there for next few years. So age doesn't matter, no body is expecting slogging from Asim. He needs to play like he is these days. And he can play this role for next 10 years if he remains fit. As long as a batsman has the spark and thrill in it and is a good fielder, he can play till 40. Bowler are different story.

One thing is, he needs to improve his fielding.

Re: Asim Kamal.

someone is saying captian and coach doesn't like him...who said to u???
and someone.... he is from karachi thats why....wo
well. in first test match he doesn't got chance cuz inzi was playing
in 2nd shoaib malik and yasir hameed
but he is really a good player and now he will get chance and i think so
he will get place of Abdul Razzak...
but in the 1st inning he was dissmised very cheaply...
at that time he seems to a batsman from dhaka street...

Re: Asim Kamal.

Asim is the only true test batsman we have. It is in his guts. He should be given chance in ODI, bcoz 85% of the time, we lose all wkts before 50 overs.

Re: Asim Kamal.

Even if he scores an average of 8 over the next 65 Test matches, he should be persisted with.

Re: Asim Kamal.

ODI's I dont see how you can fit him (A. Kamal) in the team, provided Razzaq/ Azhar/ Afridi and Malik are part of the ODI Team and just incase anyone got injured they have got M. Hafeez as well. So there is no chance for him.
If performance is the criteria for being in Test then I think he (A. Kamal) has answered the questions out of jumping guns critics :p

Yes I am from Karachi but I dont believe that you can stop someone, if he is deserving, maybe the road will be bumpy but there is no way you can stop some 1 just because he is from a certain city or he belongs to a particular region.

I also read some comments about Imran Farhat, thing is, its easy to point finger when you havent performed to the expectation, but we do easily forget the past performances. Only because Salman butt played well at the Platinum jubliee and backed it up in Australia with good performances we all are rooting for him. Yasir Hameed sneaked out couple of fifties in the last test, I didnt see anyone saying he performed well, why?

It never occured that maybe its a bad patch, agreed the way he got out in various innings is frustrating. Tables turn and the only best thing is to find a good combination and try them for a elongated period. that is the only to judge and it will be easy to point finger(s)

Openers always work as a pair, Taufeeq and Farhat were a good pair, Irony is this that we already have 7 openers... I. Farhat, S. Butt, Y. Hameed (promoted), T. Umer, M. Hafeez, S. Afridi(tried and rejected from opener slot) and S. Malik (also tried at the opener slot)
That speaks for a team and ofcourse when you rely heavily on a depleted middle order: Yoyo, Inzi(hampered by injury), Younis Khan and Asim Kamal well such things as "dhoobi ki saaf dhulai" white wash was bound to happen.

Well the team there in Kangroo land is good decent and they can perform well than what they did in the Test matches, However ODi's are a totally different game.

P.S: Dont forget what happened to India when they visited Kiwiland in 2002/03 and in comparison they had very experienced and talented players.

what is missing from the team is combination, consistency and keeping it simple and sticking to the basics. just have some faith and glue patient (sabar ka daman pakroo) ya phir Elfy/fevicol say chipkaloo and it will bring loads of :) .

Re: Asim Kamal.

:bukbuk: seems to be broken heart
