It’s been a great follow-up to Monday’s medals haul for India at the Asian Games in Busan.

Today, India has won gold and silver in the 800 metre women’s race. K M Beenamol grabbed the gold, while Madhuri J Singh won silver in the same event.

Moonstar brother - That is the problem with us - We always compare ourselves with each other and sad to say that both the countries are pathetic when it comes to sports.

If you want to compare - Please do it with China which has taken close to 50% of the gold medals so far , Also compare ourselves with tiny countries like Korea and Japan, you will know what I am talking about.

U took me wrong. I exactly thought the same. I mean india shud have sent players almost equal to china. then u can compare them with china's result.
paksitan n india r not comparable as pakistan dont send players to many disciplines. also due to cultural probelms a huge group of pakistani population cud not participate in sports.

I compared pakistan n india as the difference of population is great so to be the no of players. n in my opinion performance of indian sports men/women is better then paksitan. but u r rite it shud be more better as there is more competitive environment in india then in pakistan.

BTW India have won a few more medals. I think the situation is not that sore. sp the gold in 800m is great achievemnt.

If pakistan get a gold in hockey in 1-2 in boxing then I will be satisfied with there performance too. ( realistic target)

Not surpised.that was a confirm gold.she will get 1 or 2 more golds.
Now look for women 200 M and 400m .And men and women 4*400 relay.

few more gold is coming.

China should be on top, with a population of 1 billion +.
I dissappointed that Pakistan is so below other countries like Tajikistan or Uzbekistan, with a population of 150 million, Pakistan should atleast be in the top 10.

PS- Would anyone care to explain why is Pakistan below Srilanka and Lebanon, we have won more golds and total medal than they do.

The medal tally has nothing to do with population of a country. Secondly, in the above list that you see, countries below Lebanon (25-31) have NOT won any golds, the numbers u see are for silver, bronze, and total, so Pakistan has 2 silver, 5 bronze, and 7 total. There should be a 0 there instead of nothing to avoid confusion.

i was browsing thru the boxing events at the Games and I found out that five of your boxers are in Semi Finals...come on guys...thats not a mean achievement...hope these guys convert them into few golds...

India has moved up to the 6th place. I am expecting another 2 - 3 gold medals. However, it would be difficult to overtake kazakhstan.
