Apart from the above Pakistani sportsman and women are taking part in athletics and swimming competition as well. Good luck to all our participants.

I can guarentee you 2 gold medals for Pakistan, hockey and kabaddi.
Apart from India and Korea no other team should give Pakistan any trouble.
And since when did Kabaddi became an international sport ? :hehe: :hehe

n where’z my favriote sport wrestling:confused:
.
.
.
.
BTW who won da football match da waz palyed on sep 28?

kabaddi has become int. sport for long. U know in teams from america n canada also participlate in int. cometitions. ( but mostly with asian members)
The gold in kabaddi is not guaranteed. coz the rules r a bit diff. then that used to play in pakistan.

Also in hockey pakistan will have strong resistance from korea n pakistan sp. korea will be a formidable one at home ground.

I have good hopes in boxing .
So far pakistan have won two bronze .

Pakistan has won 4 bronze so far as follows:

2 in Billiards
1 in Rowing
1 in squash

Mansoor Zaman lost the final to Ong Beng Hee 0/9, 7/9, 0/9.

Mansoor gets silver.

So the medals tally for Pakistan now is 1 silver and 4 bronze.

One surprising aspect is that after India did so well at Commonwealth games they have only managed 5 medals ( 1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze). Can some of our Indian guppies shed some light as to what has happened.

I think INDIA has sent few contingents in thesse games . Not participating in many diciplines , otehr wise they may have won a few more bronze. also athletics is yet to start.

If u look to the squad of pakistan, some of them are really not understandible. Boxers who r a great potentail hope for medals r only 8. While we have sent 7 swimmers ( 2M,5W) if u look at there performance they r last in almost every heat in which they participated also the difference fro there nearest rival is very high.

In table tennis it is more like a joke , there r 5 women n 1 man. To make a team 3 players r reqd. so we have 2 players in access in the womens team while mens team is not participating. ( wel most of the womens player cud not make 11 points in the whole match )
also the mens team cud not be formed still a mens team manager is sitting above the team

I know most of the playrers r self sponsored still if they r not upto certain standard I dont think they should be sent, as the gov has to waste money ( which cud be invested on some good purpose) also this is making frustration in the players who r capable but cud not afford

Well done paskitan sports board

few kabadi macthes wer eplayed today.

India beat Malaysia 47-21
Bangaldesh beat Pakistan 44-10
Japan beat Sri Lanka 23-4

I think India has sent a pretty big team at Busan and the reason we are not winning is because everytime someone in the family tries to make a career in sports we come up with stupid things like

Padhge Likhoge banoge nawab, Kheloge Kudoge banoge Kharab’ .

:nook: @ desi mentality towards sports

India beat Pak, win gold in Asiad kabaddi

PTI MONDAY, OCTOBER 07, 2002 12:19:54 PM ]

BUSAN: Defending champions India beat Pakistan 37-7 in the last league match to win the kabaddi gold medal in the Asian Games here on Monday.

This was India’s third gold in this Asian Games.

India, who had won gold medals in kabaddi the last three editions of the Games, had no difficulty in prevailing over Pakistan to register their fifth successive victory in the competition.

The Indians had defeated Malsaysia, Japan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka by huge margins in their first four round robin league matches.

India, who were leading 23-4 at the half time, gave little chance to the opposition in the second half as well claiming 14 points as against 3 by Pakistan.

The winners secured four points in the first half and two more in the second while Pakistan could not secure any point.

If u see the results now they have won a few golds too. Not that bad.

Btw I just said cuz paksitan sent 182 (approx) whie india 212 ( approx) nto that diff.

Moonstar brother - That is the problem with us - We always compare ourselves with each other and sad to say that both the countries are pathetic when it comes to sports.

If you want to compare - Please do it with China which has taken close to 50% of the gold medals so far , Also compare ourselves with tiny countries like Korea and Japan, you will know what I am talking about.

Winning a Kabbadi gold medal doesn't mean anything since no one plays Kabaddi in China (If they did - they will win the gold there as well)

India wins Another Gold medal in women's long jump.Total Gold for India is now 4.

Sorry to reply you so late - In commonwealth games - India got most of the golds in Shooting and weightlifting and wrestling where it didn't have much competition from the best teams in the world. China is a superpower in sports(at least in Asia) and they are too good for every one else in the ASIAD.

Chinese and Koreans are at present one of the best shooting teams in the world - So there goes all the golds of Shooting.

Wrestling - Former Soviet countries like Kazakasta etc are best in the world, so wrestling ke saare medals nikal gaye.

Weightlifting - In CG you get 3 medals for every catg (1 for each Snatch, Clean & Jerk and overall which is not the case in Asian Games and per event you get only one gold for over all weight lifted) and that's why it looked so many medals in Commonwealth games plus once again Former USSR countries are best in the world and India stood no chance in that.

India's tally will probably improve after the Track & Field events where we have got most of our medals in the past.

Bahadur Singh Sagoo won the gold medal in men’s shot put final in Busan on Tuesday. Shakti singh wins Bronze in same event.

Looks like food old days of Track and field is back.3-4 more golds are expected there,

5th Gold for India.

BUSAN: Bahadur Singh Sagoo won the men’s shot put gold medal at the Asian Games here Tuesday with a best of 19.08m. Saad Mubarak of Qatar was second, and Asian record-holder Shakti Singh of India was third.
