probably we might have to revert to Miandad's tactics of crawling defensively in the first 40 overs and hoping the late order batsmen can bail us out with a quickfire 50 in the last few.

I knew I would live to see this from you. That is the only way Pakistani batting works. As I said many times before, I would rather take 220 and give our bowling a chance.
Well facing facts, our good totals in most matches have almost always been down to Razzaqs or Maliks hitting a hundred off the last 10 overs, as compared to the rest of the world's batsmen who do the damage with the top order. this is because our first 4 batsmen are so poor they have to wait for Hong Kong to come along in order to play match-winning knocks.
Still...maybe Hameed and Inzimam will have good days. A good start will make all the difference.

40 overs - 150 for 4
50 overs - 230 for 8

fungo, that is because our top order batting is so utterly $hit it's untrue. Like I just said, most decent teams have their top order batsmen to do the damage such as Sehwag, Tendulkar, Hayden, Jayasuriya, Trescothick and so on. With us if we lose two wickets before 30 you can guarantee the next three will fall before 80.
All the top teams can score at a good rate throughout and have no need for such limiting tactics, we use them as an admission that our top order is too crap to dominate decent bowlers.
some of u guys are still think of pakistani bowling as 2Ws are around. With them a total of 190 was even enough to defend. They knew the job. But with these SSs
I dont think that Woolmer would like to see them defending all the way till 40th over and then hope for late assault to come off. He knows modern cricket too well to realize that it may work in sitations when you are two down or three down early on BUT not when you have 10 or 9 wickets in hand in 15th over. That is the reason why I think Imran Nazir was brought back in the team because of his aggression and I see him play against India. Rest assured if he stays at the wicket he will play his shots and so will Yasir Hameed. Thus we can pray that they survive the first few overs and then I m sure they will have a license to go for it. Thats why Shoaib Malik was brought in at one down to keep one end blocked if a wicket falls.
The problem with Woolmer is that he is trying South African tactics on Pakistan. Sending Shoaib Malik at #3 is not the same as Jacques Kallis coming at that position. Kallis is a 10 times better batsman than Malik.
If top order is a problem to begin with, why make it even weaker by sending a bowling all-rounder at the MOST CRUCIAL position of one-down?. Send Inzi at that position. he is the fking captain and needs to step up. Instead of hiding himself for the second string bowlers, he needs to bite the bullet and lead from the front.
Trust me, if we can solve our #3 position with a solid bat, we can carry onto over #35 with less than 4 wickets down.

Three hundreds and you call Shoaib Malik a bowling allrounder? Come on yaar.
Regarding Inzi, he is the captain since a while now. He never volunteered for that position. You are right, he should try to lead from the front like Ponting does.
Given that we do have good hitters to make the best use of slog overs, and really pathetic Tulley Baz up the order (read: Imran and Company), I was kind of surprised to see Shoaib up at 3 and Younis Khan (who by the way, also stole Xtreme's dhoti) at 6. But there is a reason why Woolmer gets paid so much for his opinions and I don't, so let's see how he plays with the order againstg India.
I would still say prefering Younis over Asim Kamal was a mistake. Asim has got all the capablities to strengthen the innings, be it on no. 3, 4 or 5. He suites in all three position. But he would be best at no. 3. Since he keeps the end and plays selected shots. Atleast he does not like to flirt with the wide balls unlike most of our players.
I think they should bring back shaid afradi for this match
its a good player against indian team
all indians are scred from him
if he can go anything briing him back and may be will win
Now that is funny ! I would agree with you there 101 % .
Guys mark my words, India is going to lose this match. We are going to play like a team not an individual effort. I bet you NO BODY and i mean NO BODY is going to throw away their wickets this time.
If they do then … I do not know what to say. But I have good feelings that we will easily win this match
