Asia bibi released

No…they don?t go hand in hand. Religious people are not the religion themselves. Ideas (that includes religion) can and should be criticized. Religious people are sensitive but ideally the government shouldn?t pander to these people. It’s one thing to concede to the fact that a country in Pakistan’s situation is going to have nutjobs, it’s another thing to create apologetics for blasphemy laws. Also lol at “she chose to reside in Pakistan” as if she willingly came to Pakistan as a Christian just to start drama instead of being born and raised in a country that is prejudiced towards her because of her religion. Looking deeper at the case, she was falsely accused as well which makes it all the worse.

Good decision or not. It has already made lives of residents of twin cities or RWP/ISB miserable as Mr. Phen Ki Sirri has made a protest call and traffic jams are all over the place.

Good decision or not? Good decision. Period.

We should be less concerned about image and more about simple justice

Actually blasphemy law saved this woman.. The public did not take the matter in their own hands, they caught her and handed her over to the police because they knew there is a law.. otherwise they would have killed her on spot..That’s the reason why we need blasphemy law because it ensures the safety of the accused and gives non-muslims a chance to prove themselves innocent in the court. In other words no blasphemy law means “lynching on spot”..
Anyway the news from the centre is libtards and seculars are celebrating this judgment on social media while common people have rejected the judgment… and public have blocked all the roads from Karachi to Khyber..
[/quote]

The fact that you would address people celebrating this in denigrating terms tells us all we need to know about you. And you consider those against this judgment common people. That tells us all we need to know about ?common people ? in that region.

And your admission that but for the blasphemy laws she would be lynched on the spot by the public is an admission on your part that the public over there is ghatiya

I hope cool heads resolve this amicably.

Ideas can be criticised but here we are not talking about ideas… we are talking about insulting words that are hurled at " religious personalities" in the name of xyz… Even you can’t criticise ideas with insulting words..
If i abuse a guppy on gupahup, i will be banned right away… going by your logic, the administration of this forum should not pander to anyone abusing others here… Even west owned social media sites like Twitter Facebook ban people n terminate their accounts on using offensive language. It means all these guys are hypocrites… They give us all rights to insult prophets and religions… but can’t tolerant even a single insulting word said against other people..
The rule is simple… You can say whatever you want to as long as you are not insulting others, full stop… I know you are quite dheet and will not get what i am saying but for the correction of the record i said what i said.

But of course. Someone who does not agree with your warped worldview is ?dheet?.

Twitter and Facebook may terminate an account based on offensive language. And you are equating that with terminating a LIFE based on offensive language.

In this case, it appears even the charges are false. If you want to do right by humanity, apologize to this lady. And stand up for those who cannot defend themselves. Be a human being. Without that, religion is useless. Learn empathy. Which you lack for the little guy.

I went to this baseball game few months ago and there were these guys who wouldnt stand up nor take off their hats for the national anthem. That alone provoked another group to almost attack them. Some actions provoke individual reactions, some on a societal level. That is human nature which is the same everywhere. Not all but many care for one thing or another deeply and wont tolerate abusive language/action toward it, it could be their flag/anthem/forefathers/parents/leaders/loved ones/race/etc.

Nope i am not equating termination of accounts with terminating a life.. I am just saying that such actions have same theme… “the punishment”… So yaa we all have same laws with different names and punishments…

I liked the old forum style better.

How do you add a like to a comment?

That is news to me that Jews and Christians are being called that in mosques anywhere. To be honest I had never heard of such things before seeing your post. Questioning their belief is something else and Muslims have the biggest heart when it comes to answering such questions in a civil manner.

As far as emotions are concerned, I will respectfully disagree with you. There are lots of fist fights on you tube between western people started due to something offensive being said at a bar/restaurant/etc. They do lead up to stabbing and shooting too. Laws are there to prevent people from taking matters into their own hands and trust the system.

Mullah should be executed in place of aasia

There was no need of Hadith reference in judgement.
Justice served … Asia bibi free and I wish best for her…

Mubarak to Tehreek-e- lundabaazi pakistan. Asia’s name would be put on ECL. Now PP can go assassinate her since he doesn’t believe in “thor phor”.

Too soon? :frowning:

PS Why does no one ever take a stance against such clowns? So much so for premature congratulations to imran for “taking a stand”.

So, the govt agreed to put her on ECL?

This is a stupid comparison. You lot are really trying to create these apologetics for blasphemy laws and they fall flat every time. The punishment of blasphemy is death, a completely disproportionate punishment for something that doesn’t need punishment in the first place. And no, criticizing religion or even “hurling abuse” at religion or other abstract ideas is still not comparable to hurling insults at a real life person that is currently alive and hasn’t been dead for centuries.

You do realize the difference between government policy and private businesses? Facebook and Twitter are businesses, they’ll kick you off of their platform because you violate their terms and conditions, it’s the same with this forum but none of that can stop you from doing the samethings in real life in a **public forum. **
