True but I w'd not blame the entire Senate. It was ex-Senator Anwar Beg who seemed very fond of treating PCB chairmen like nobody. He should realise that PCB chairman is an important person and not his personal chaprasi jo baat baat par Senate mein haazri dey
But notice how quiet he has been of late despite Pakistan's below-par displays on this tour...why? because his party PPP is in government...
Ian Bell is likely to get the sack for The Oval test after dismal displays with the bat in successive Ashes tests
England's selector, Geoff Miller has ruled out the possibility of a comeback for Marcus Trescothick
Three names are being touted as a likely replacement for Bell
1- Robert Key 30 (Kent)
2- Mark Ramprakash 40 (Middlesex)
3- Jonathan Trott 28 (Warwickshire)
So who do you think it is going to be?
My own feeling is that it w'd make zilch difference and Australia will beat England to take the series 2-1. Ponting and everyone seems very pumped up for revenge. Mind you Australia already got their revenge (for 2005 Ashes loss 2-1) in 2006 winning 5-0 but this Ashes (away) victory w'd be even sweeter
It is funny how while all the attention was focussed on who w'd replace Bell in the Oval test - most English cricket columnists seemed dead certain that Bell w'd be dropped after dismal displays with the bat, even I got duped by it - they decided to drop Ravi Bopara who it has to be said has not done much with the bat either throughout the series to justify his no. 3 position. Centuries against Windies are all well and good but he failed when it really mattered.
Seems England might almost have an edge @ the end of the first day. They might get 350 if they are lucky. If Aus do as well as they did @ Headingley they would get 445 which is a lead of <100. The way the pitch is turning on day 1, you can add 150 to any target in the 4th innings.
Broad to Hussey, OUT, got him! Broad's got three! Hussey again not showing good judgement of his off stump as Broad cuts this back nastily and raps him in front. Gone!

Sheesh, this has been a breathless spell by Broad and England here. 4 for 8 in 21 deliveries
Broad to Clarke, OUT, he's got him! Broad's got four! Clarke went for a drive, feeling for it, and Trott took a very sharp chance at short extra cover, diving forward. Tremendous cricket from England!

Australia in dire straits now. What an incredible slump! Australia were 73/0 at one stage
109/6

What an incredible looking scorecard it is now, Australia have just lost 36 for 6 in, oh, about 90 minutes. Here's Johnson and the pressure is phenomenal!
Swann to Katich, OUT, Swann gets Katich! Oh, the follow-on looms now! Katich got an inside edge onto the top flap of his pad and it's bobbed up to short leg, who takes a simple catch and Rauf raises the finger
