Quote of the Day from David 'Bumble' Lloyd (on Twitter page)
"Mate's wife has left him...taken his Bob Marley collection and the satellite dish...No woman, no sky"
Re: Ashes 2009
Frist two balls this morning reaped two wickets for England that of Shane Watson and Hussey. What a start. Aussies must be praying for rain.
Re: Ashes 2009
Onion again, Ponting gone. Aus 163/4
Re: Ashes 2009
At lunch Australia 203/8
From cricinfo:
And that'll be lunch. Phew. What a session for England, they picked up 7 for 77, with Onions picking up three and Anderson four.
Australia 263 all out
Top scorer Watson 62 - failed to add anything to his score today
Katich 46
Ponting 38
Anderson 5/80, Onions 4/58
Can England now take a 100+ first innings lead - they would certainly hope so - or is there something in this pitch.
Re: Ashes 2009
^ I dont know whether there is something in the pitch but there is a lot of rain in the air. :D
England in reply 63/2
(cricinfo)
Bell is a picture of nervous energy. Sweat bands being moved up and down. Shirt collar shifted. Fingers in his gloves shuffling in and out.
Stumps Day2
England 116/2 Strauss 64*
Remember Australia were 126/1 at stumps yesterday
Can Australia do to England tomorrow morning what England did to them today - Australia lost 7 wickets for 77 runs before lunch today!!
Forecast of heavy rain till late in the afternoon.
Aussie prayers 've been answered :D
Third Test: (Day 4)
With almost 2 days spoilt by rain a draw seems the most likely result.
But if one team can lose this game it is Australia
Australia 263 &** 50/1** (14 ov)
England 376
Australia trail by 63 runs with 9 wickets remaining
17 overs still left in the day
Stumps - Day 4
Australia (88/2) trail by 25 runs with 8 wickets remaining

I thought 3rd test was a draw for sure, but not sure if Flintof really means is ![]()
also: interestingly he said his only role was to remove the lacquer on the new ball for Anderson and Onions to start it swinging at around the 30-over mark. Pakistan on the other hand dropped Gul for the 3rd game ![]()
Re: Ashes 2009
4th test Headingley.
Flintoff is out and Matt Prior got injured, they showed him lying on the ground in pain. Something happened while he was playing soccer before the game.
Alec Stewart very visible on the ground, maybe he will fill in :)
Meanwhile at Headingley (Leeds) England were bundled out for a disastrous total of 102 in the first innings of the 4th test
Destroyers-in-chief: Siddle 5/21 and Stuart Clarke 3/18
Prior 37*
Cook 30
Australia are 40/1 in reply and won't get a better chance than this of levelling the series 1-1. Remember they just need a draw to retain the Ashes whereas England need to win. Australia w'd be looking to bat only once in this game. A 400+ total w'd almost seal the fate of England in this test.
And who knows given the English weather, the 5th test at THe Oval might be spoiled by rain, so the Aussies have to win here
Australia are batting like it is a one-day game and they can afford to
62/1 after 10 overs...
Re: Ashes 2009
No Pieterson, no Flintoff and Eng crash like some Zimbabweans.
Dismal England are staring at a heavy defeat in the 4th test at Headingley. This match could be over before Lunch on day 3 (Sunday)
Stumps - Day 2
England 102 & 82/5 (32.0 ov) - Johnson 3/21, Ben Hilfenhaus 2/37
Australia 445 - North made 110 today. Clarke (93) was unlucky to miss his ton
England trail by 261 runs with 5 wickets remaining
