:D , ooops, did I forget to mention I was joking? Actually, I have around 4 Urdu students whom I seriously help out through e-mail. Conversely, Im learning German, French and Japanese from them.

I have no issue with speaking urdu cause it just slips of fmy tongue, its not an effort I make, unless Im haggling and discuss with my sister. SO far as cussing people out in urdu when they cant understand is concerned - i think its rude, cowardly and entirely against our faith and culture.

Well it depends and some time its more about others.

If you are three friends one of whom doesnt understand I dont speak urdu, becuz he feel left out, but then some times ots good that no one understand what you are saying and can say whatever u want !

i speak urdu aswell out of home with friends
it’s really funny cuz we may b talking about sumthing completely different and this 1 guy on my course gets paranoid that we are talking about him :rotfl:
we mit be talking about a teacher but it makes him paranoid.

ususally i stick to english but if i wanna say sumthing like to mom or sum1 tht i dont want others to hear then i use urdu

Exactly! Thats what I always wonder that why people do that? I have found this common habit in Desi Girls mostly. They tend to change the way they talk and walk in public as soon as they see another desi around. They will be talking pure urdu or punjabi but as they sense the presence of another desi around they will automatically start speaking english…wonder y they do that!?

I don’t know why somebody should be ashamed of his language,
I speak Urdu and pushto in public with out any problem, If some one is offended. I don’t care,
I often wear salwer cameez on Friday
