What people’s vote? Just yesterday I was talking to someone who was visiting from Italy & was living in Pakistan till last year. Cast her vote in Karachi & even in an area like Defense voters saw open rigging. Standing in line to vote while seeing “thugs” go & mess with the ballots by adding multiple “fake” votes at a time.
Same scenario in Punjab. Can’t talk about other provinces because I personally haven’t seen or heard any rigging accounts but I am sure if not a lot, rigging must have happened in other provinces too.
Saleem going by your logic part of Taliban is right too then? Families get killed/murdered & you go on becoming a khud kush hamla awar. What aqalmund insaan, no matter how desperate does that.
We have seen enough guns & ammo in civilian hands over the years & we have all witnessed the damage it has caused. I hate it when people call Karachi "Goliyon ka Shehar" instead of "Roshniyon ka Shehar" all thanks to these armed civilians which mind you I acknowledge were initially set out to help folks in need. Problem is anytime we try to take law in our hands, it gets to our head & eventually things get ugly.
The unfortunate fact remains that present government is probably Pakistan's worst nightmare but this so called Revolution wouldn't be an ideal situation either. On top of that Army takeovers are the worst thing that can happen to any country.
Anyone who cares about Pakistan should seriously make dua for it any chance they get.

Nevertheless … even though some are claiming that what AH offered (300000 men) are armed and trained men … in my post (you can check again) I only wrote men and/or committed men … or die-hard supporters.
But then, even if MQM has such strength and they are armed, then also I would blame NS and BB, who in 90s carried out such brutal crackdown to wipe out political party, killing thousands of their members and many other innocent Karachiets using state machinery (police and army), that party must have got into panic and this could be result of that panic preparation so that party can take stand and defend themselves if same happens again.

You are right, enough guns & ammo in civilian hands ... and damage it has caused ... but of all the damage, killing and murder, I have not seen the one that happened in Lahore where in open day light in front of camera, PMLN Gunda 'Gullu Butt' leading state police bringing havoc, beating, brutally injuring and killing at point blank with straight fire, scores of innocent unarmed civilians, women, children, old men, young and even pregnant women (firing at her face and chest).
If you do not like weapon and ammu in the hands of civilians ... then what about weapon and ammu in the hands of state getting used to killed unarmed civilians brutally?
When state starts using weapon and ammu to kill unarmed peaceful innocent civilians brutally then civilians have every right to pick up arms to protect themselves from state murderers and also to get rid of them.

I am born in Karachi, my family is living in Karachi since 1946 ... and I saw discrimination and killing of Karachiets too ... Ayub punishing Karachi for supporting Fatima Jinah killing few in process, Bhutto punishing Karachi because Karachi voted him in big numbers still he wanted to crush Karachi using discrimination and state power, BeNazir punished Karachi killing many because she wanted to do ethnic politics and divide Sindh to rule, Nawaz punished Karachi killing many because Karachi never voted him ... now what you want? with all this state discrimination and brutality, there would be no reaction?

No one wrote or said that revolution would be ideal situation ... but when two penny Gunda 'Gillu Butt' of murderer Shahbaz Shareef whom SS calls 'Shair of Lahore' ... leads hundreds of armed Police including SSP ... and attacks a civilian residence brutally injuring and killing many including women, children, old and young men ... something in such way had not even happened to Muslims in India ... not even glimpse of that happened during worse of Zia-ul-Haq dictatorship ... then what you want?

Then you have words to say that in such country, you want that civilians living under continuous threat of not only getting robbed (treasury and country's land and resources getting ransacked) by Pharaohs but Pharaohs using state machinery brutality beat them and kill them ... still, civilians do not even pick up arms to defend themselves and teach the pharaoh of the land lesson?
Certainly I do not agree with your wish here, that one should live in a country as animals and slave just because they are civilians ... and bear all cruelties and atrocities of state just because Pharaoh rules them.
As far as I am concerned, it is Islamic duty and jihad of every Muslim to fight such Pharaohs and their machinery of state brutality (judiciary, police, bureaucracy, and private gundas) with their life, property and all might ... until these Pharaohs get hanged. state brutality ends, and civilians get freedom from such elements ruling them.
I am pretty sure that in this good jihad (not so-called jihad of Taliban who instead of fighting 'brutality of state', are fighting Pakistan armed forces and killing innocent civilians) state army, who are people too and strong enough to resist and punish Pharaoh rulers of the land would side with people ... and fight side by side with people.

I have with me, taped Dr Danish program 'Sawal yea hai' of 20th June. I am trying to find video of that program but it seems at all places half the program is present (first 20 minutes) when the program is of full length (around 35 minutes) and most gruesome part is in that last 15 minutes, where he interviews women, children and people of the area ... and that would make it clear why people are not willing to forgive and forget ... and that, with brutal government of Pharaoh ruling, armed revolution can come anytime ... unless army comes to defuse the matter or everyone gets on page and TUQ do his best to plug things up.
Else, it is unlikely that brutal government of Pharaoh can kill unarmed innocent civilians as well as rule ... if that would happen than that would surprise me.
I would appreciate if anyone can find and post whole program of Dr Danish 'Sawal yea hai' 20th June 2014 and not truncated version that is less than 20 minutes long (as it is actually, first 20 minutes of the program).

As far as Pakistan is concerned, to bring out a million armed men against corrupt government would not be difficult, and one only need good convincing leader (as men and arms, both are there in abundance).

Just imagine ... Dogs of barbarian NS and barbarian SS maimed and killed many innocent PAT members at TUQ residence ... if any of those killed were my close one and I had no expectation to get justice from police and judiciary (as they are government paid dogs too) then certainly I would have taken up arms to revenge myself directly from those involved (including NS and SS) without fearing for my own life. So ... what you think must be going in the minds of those innocently killed and their close ones?
We know that people like NS are orphans. They can only show bravery when in power and can use state elements (police, army, judiciary, etc), else they are ‘impotent’ (hinjray) with no one to stand behind them. Most who show their support to barbarian brothers, it is because they use barbarian brothers to do corruption, grab plots, permits, commissions, and earn haram-money. If time of need would come, these barbarian thugs could not bring out more than few people to defend them. One can see their strength from what happened when Barbarian thugs returned to Pakistan, as no one even cared to come out and show their face. Most of barbarian brother’s political partners were with Musharraf and joined them to do corruption and take advantage of state power.
These barbarian brothers could not even fight their own battle to save their own ass and ass of their immediate family members, and same can be said about all Pakistani corrupts in judiciary, police and bureaucracy.
PPP has some diehard Jiyalas, probably 10 to 20 thousands, who may give their lives for Bhuttos, but I doubt even these Jiyalas would give their life for Zardari. With time, their numbers are decreasing anyhow. So, I doubt they would stand behind barbarian brothers to save system (in expectation of doing corruption later on, when their turn would come).
JUI have some diehard men (probably few thousands) but I think most of them are already fighting along with Taliban.
JI has diehard men in their ranks too, that could be as much as Jiyals. But in present situation, I doubt they would help barbarian brothers or would give their life to save them or system.
MQM has large number of die-hard supporters (could be several hundred thousands) but I do not think they would ever side with barbarian brothers or would try to save system, rather would help if people in Punjab would try to bring the system down … just today on TV (ARY) I was listening to AH who was threatening government and PEMRA in support of ARY and continuously giving moral support to TUQ. But MQM presence is only in Sindh, so no big threat to barbarian brothers in Punjab.
Thus, I think if TUQ, Ch Shujaat, Imran Khan, Sh Rasheed, or people on their own in Punjab decide to take up arms against government of barbarian brothers, it would not be difficult to bring in ‘awami inqalab’ in Pakistan … and then … phir Allah hee hafiz hay … as that would be bad news for barbarian brothers, their corrupt supporters, plus corrupts in judiciary, bureaucracy, and police.

But then you are right in your question, as I believe you are in USA and in USA people write dissertation for PhD. :)
Even though many think Thesis and Dissertation are same, there are marked differences. I am writing down two basic differences just for understanding sake.

Opinion and hypothesis based on personal research (original research done by person).
Opinion and hypothesis based on already existing research (research that is done by others).
Thesis could be short … I think shortest thesis was few pages long.
With some background information, and final few chapters dealing with personal research, thesis could consist of around 100 pages.
Dissertations are long as it is like book, giving information on existing research and published work.
PhD dissertations in USA are normally around 300 pages.
Note: In UK, students write dissertation for MSc ... In USA students write thesis for MSc :)

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a stay order against Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’s (PEMRA) fifteen days ban on ARY News, ARY News reports on Tuesday.
Lawyer of ARY News had argued before the court that the order was issued without hearing the stance of the news channel.
The counsel has said that the court has issued stay order against the ban till 27th June.
The news channel in its petition pleaded to the court that PEMRA should be directed that it will not repeat such mistakes and demanded that the Information Minister should tender an apology for the act.
