Don’t you know that it is public servants who arrest criminals, corrupts and thugs and put them into prison, Judge public and decides what punishments should be given to them, keep records of public properties, collect taxes and decides about public needs, make decisions for public, govern public and fight invaders to save the independence of country and see that no harm comes to country and public?

you are getting innovative in your justification for dictatorships… only if Musharraf was king of 200 years away you would’ve been nominated some kind of “wazeer/musheer”.

Only in your definition of “public servants” they can kick constitution around to stay “public servant”, they can file charges while becoming the judges as well

i guess the aim mainly was to get the anti-govt current affairs programmes off air, like hamid mir, shahid masood. they dont have any issues with entertainment and bollywoodesque programming and "news" items.

Of course, the aim is to cut of the terrorist sympathizer's news program so that terrorists can be killed in Swat without TV propaganda against the army. 120 terrorists dead in Swat, Imran cries.

So are you saying that they should not have opposed the dictator, toe his line and told the world that he is a wonderful person despite his despicable acts. GEO is just bringing the reality to the people. Ask the dictator to walk down any street of Pakistan alone on his own and he will be dead within 2 minutes. That is how much the people of Pakistan love him, his 95% rigged election not withstanding.

So you mean that all others AAJ, DAWN, CNBC, INDUS, and dozens of others are telling everyone that Musharraf is a wonderful person? I don't quite think so, watch and note their tones in spite of the govt's so called wrath. Are they not showing the alleged "reality"? Only now they are not spicing it up with garam masala ala Geo. So what do you mean? Are the others lesser journalists and Geo is the last epitome of journalism?

Talk of sensationalization, Geo news is showing little kids saying " Uncle Musharraf, Geo channel khol dain", and parents saying that now that Geo channel is off, they have a difficult time controlling their kids. Children would refuse to eat food because they can’t watch Geo News.

Most probably yes, that’s what has happened to other channels. they agreed to cutting down the propaganda/anti skewness and they’re doing fine just sticking to neutral reporting and other progs. Geo/ARY had to be stubborn, maybe cause they thought they wouldn’t generate enough revenues with the neutral coverage without their standard sensationalizing.

I don't understand, they say Geo News has been shutdown and isn't available anywhere anymore yet it is still on Geo website and I can still watch it live. Whats up with this? Is the Geo online not being up linked from Dubai?

^i think they may have mobilized it to elsewhere...like they're not uploading from UAE anymore. just my guess..not particularly sure though.
