babe think about this, if Geo is such a loving cradle for its employees and the alleged Geo-family, shouldn't they have been more responsible thinking about the jobs, incomes, livelihoods and careers when they received pressure from the govt which is after all the govt and will have its way like every other democratic or non democratic govt of the world and yet refused to budge, understand the situation and secure the organizations survival!? What were they trying to portray? What role were they trying to play? They are a media organization, why are they playing revolutionary/king-maker/reformer etc of sorts, that too only for areas that benefit them directly? Surely they were delusional about their worth. Maybe the employees and those affected should protests against Geo for being an irresponsible organization lead by short-sighted, self-centered, deluded, over ambitious, biased, politically motivated and inept directors, who sank the entire ship to prove something they have no business meddling into? Who were Geo and ARY to take on the govt when all other channels accepted the govt decisions? And no they're not revolutionaries, revolutionaries treat rulers and opposition alike. Freedom of media is one thing, misusing it another, defying govt orders still another and having delusions of greandeur still another. Would BBC/CNN or other networks ever take on their govts decisions like this and become a political organization?
So are you saying that they should not have opposed the dictator, toe his line and told the world that he is a wonderful person despite his despicable acts. GEO is just bringing the reality to the people. Ask the dictator to walk down any street of Pakistan alone on his own and he will be dead within 2 minutes. That is how much the people of Pakistan love him, his 95% rigged election not withstanding.
