Artificial Sets

How much do the artificial bridal sets cost, does anyone know?

Re: Artificial Sets

i think around $150.00 and above.

Re: Artificial Sets

can people post pics of any artificial sets! i've been wanting to thread a thread on this topic myself

Re: Artificial Sets

if u want an artificial bridal set gold plated with tikka and jhumar it will be upwards of $500

In Pakistan a heavy bridal artificial jewelery set cost Rs. 25,000 or up having neckalce, earings, ring, bracelets with 5 rings, bangles, jhoomer and matha patti etc.

Re: Artificial Sets

actually ive heard that actual “artificial” gold is more like 14K gold… so its not purely “artificial”. but ppl call it fake b/c its not purely 22/24k?

Re: Artificial Sets

^sara...its really silver...plated with 14k gold........none of this stuff you see at the mall....or even at other american stores...malls....is pure 14k gold...unless its gordons..or helzbergs...even then its kinda iffy....

as far as desi stores are concerned....the 'artificial' is categorized as silver...brass...or other alloys....that can turn a piercing into a palpating sore..

Re: Artificial Sets

i had planned to get artificial when i went to pak but to be honest was dissapointed in the designs and ended up getting a gold set (24k) plated with white gold on top to match my lengha, i felt the finishing was so much better in gold than artificial and the designs were amazing........ but thats my view!

Re: Artificial Sets

^ I guess it varies. 2 of my friends who recently got married wore artificial sets. One of them was noticably fake -but she still looked beautiful- and the other set was so drop dead gorgeous and I really did not even believe it when she told me it was fake

About the designs, cant you just show them a design have them make it for you?

Re: Artificial Sets

i think it depends on where you buy the set from obviously some are better than others.

i know Ajjo from lahore/islambad does 18k with 24 k gold over top. it's very reasonable price wise.

Re: Artificial Sets

Well, I just placed my order for a gold set but I am looking to see if artificial set option would have been better. Gold is so ridiculously expensive.

Re: Artificial Sets

but why do u wanna spend like 500 on some artificial set? isnt it like money waste? they go black after sometime anyways...
just buy a medium sized gold set ...which is a far more better option....it dont hve to be 24k.

Re: Artificial Sets

no it does not go black because it's pure silver. you have to be careful with it and it will stay in good color. and why would anyone want to spend 6k and above for a real bridal gold set that you probably will never wear again and have to keep sending zakaat on it?

Re: Artificial Sets

yea thats true....or u can get two small gold sets ..which u can attach together to make a big bridal set or deattach them to wear separately..
thats wht i gt done for my wedding btw!!

Re: Artificial Sets

shay! who said you have to buy a big gaudy gold set...!! :)
we have seen so many examples of bad taste reflecting through huge 'shadi wale' 'sets'.....and wonder...where exactly is she going to where that again...!! right??
and then there are those brides..who pair a nice choker with pretty earrings..and and medium sized tika...with maybe jhoomer..although they cant be worn again..you can always trade them in for some earrings..etc...its up to you..
again...buy jewelery that you ll be wearing...better yet..that you ll want to wear again...and again...spending $500 or even $200 on silver doesnt sound right to me :)...

Us brides dont have to pile on gold to make us feel like 'dulhans'
the dulhan effect is a combination of all the little things that are going on that day....the mehndi..the nails..the makeup..the dupatta on the head...the gorgeous dress...the clutch or the pouch...the jewelery...and best of all....your smile :)...so overloading on one....is bound to tip us off balance...you want everything to look perfect...harmonious....

Re: Artificial Sets

^ well said!

artifical jewelry is not real silver or real gold, which is why its called artificial.
an entirely artificial set can be bought for about 10,000 rupees in india and there is gorgeous designs available there.

i bought some beautiful silver earrings from pakistan in the 5-7 thousand rupee range (for each).
they're beautiful. will keep wearing them too. practical and affordable!

Re: Artificial Sets

I was thinking of wearing an artifical set for my big day as well but not too sure about the pro and cons it has when it comes to a real set. Gold is getting extremely expensive and I would much rather spend $500 as oppsed to $2000 on a set I may never wear again.

Anyone know if Jackson Heights or the shops in New Jersey sells good fake sets?

Re: Artificial Sets

I wore an artificial set for my wedding, it was gold plated. I had to buy it here in Chicago. It cost me $140 I believe and it matched my outfit perfectly. I got the necklace, earrings, tika, and jhoomar. No ring tho but I had enough of those already. And then for my valima, my mom had given me a jarao set and I wore that with my outfit which matched perfectly as well.

Re: Artificial Sets

^ That's a wonderful price and something I would love to do. After finals I am going shopping!
