Arshad's right... the old houses are worth much more than the new ones. Mainly because back in the days they were built with a lot more brick than modern houses, which have more timber & plaster.

I HATE the new houses, they don't feel as sturdy as old ones. I want to move back to London one day and buy a nice house in the suburbs from the 1930s or 1940s.

I am not sure that old houses were built with more bricks than modern houses. I guess it may be true as blocks tend to be used nowaday. I don't think that is a factor though. Here we have styles of housing like Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Pre-war, Post-war, modern etc. and generally people like old houses. They have character and history.

Richmond…that is a nice part of the town…very middle class! Although its not very central. Good luck with the move!
