help with the name "Natasha"

It should have a good meaning. Or be named for a righteous person, like a Prophet, or companion etc. It is one of the rights of the child in Islam, that their parents give them a good name. Your name can have a big effect on you, on your personality. The Prophet peace be upon him changed the names of the companions whose names had a negative meaning to them [like Harb, which means war, and Murrah, which means bitterness]. The name shouldnt be something that is against the teachings of Islam [like Abdul Uzzah, meaning the servant of Uzzah]. If someone converts to Islam, they dont have to change their name unless it has a negative or unIslamic meaning

Its sad to see parents picking a name for their baby solely based on what “sounds nice”. Or others just try to look for “neutral” names, that arent perceived as being “odd-sounding” in the west. That shouldnt be your only criteria. We should choose a name for our child that helps nurture good, righteous qualities and helps foster a strong Islamic identity in them
