That is paranoid thinking. If Pakistan ever is destabilised enough to require foreign intervention, by then it would be too late to prevent nukes falling into the wrong hands.
The US's interest in the Indo-Pak rivalry is to maintain the balance and make sure neither one destabilises the other - that's why you see both sides being played off against each other, weapons sold and training given to both armed forces.
It needs to maintain Indian stability (as a counterweight to China) and to maintain Pakistani stability (to contain nukes and nuclear knowledge).
