Fazlullah’s militants take Kalam

• Militants now in control of six of Swat district’s eight tehsils

MINGORA: Pro-Taliban militants loyal to rebel cleric Maulana Fazlullah took control of a police station, paramilitary force camp and other government buildings in Kalam on Wednesday, extending their hold over the Swat Valley, officials and witnesses said.

Out of the eight tehsils in Swat district, the militants are now in control of six – Kabal, Matta, Khawazakhela, Charbagh, Maydan and Kalam. According to Online, the militants have appointed officials in the towns they control and seized government and NGO vehicles.

Dozens of paramilitary troops and police surrendered their weapons to the militants and retreated from Kalam early on Wednesday, a police official told AFP. Before taking Kalam, the militants captured the town of Bahrain, having seized Madyan later Tuesday, officials and residents said. Local residents said a jirga of elders later pledged to support the militants if they agreed to leave the town. “We did this because we feared gunship helicopters will also pound our areas if the militants stayed in control,” said local elder Hameed Kalami. “We asked the Taliban to leave Kalam and they granted our request.”

Like I have been repeating for past year (and more), Pakistan will cease to exist if Taliban take over, which is a very real possibility and is slowly happening.

We still have F16 fighting for us, don't know about the Pilots though. Maybe they'll use robots instead of humans, since every second soldier is withdrawing and surrendering from his position.

It is so much easier to drop bombs and displace civilians, yet the high and mightu Pak military that you have supported has not fired against the Taliban.

This is a failure of Pakistani domestic and foreign policy. Pakistan's support for the illegal US/NATO occupation of Afghanistan and this farce "War on Terror" which support for US is responsible for this spread hostilities.

Fortunately, there are some soldiers who are not complete idiots and do not want to spark a civil war that will separate Sarhad from Pakistan. But hey, some of the so-called khairkhwas of Pakistan don't mind losing Sarhad, then so be it.

Just a little incident... hazrat umer's son was found guilty in one of the wrong doing and Hazrat Umer ordered i think 80 or 100 kora for him... but his son died before taking the entire punishment. (after 30 or 40) so after burying him, hazrat umer himself administered the remaining punishment... so that people will never say that the son of caliph didnot recieve the entire punishment...

Yes we should. Mohammad pbuh punished the enemies of state / traiters by killing "all" of their men, and taking "all" of their women, children, and land.

Those traiters were idolators...all of them.
Only those men got killed who fought.
Unarmed men were saved.
women and children were also saved.
All the prisoners were treated nicely.

But mush is killing unarmed men, women and children, destroying their houses etc. So no comparison between mush and Prophet of Islam.

Yes Mohammad pbuh did forgive few for "personal" attacks. However he never forgave anyone who violated the sanctity of the "State". Our history is filled with stories where traitor tribes were butchered and their women and kids were taken as slaves.

Your effort is pretty commendable, but u should remember they have killed their innerself(zameer) so expecting to ignite their innerself (zameer) is useless, as there is none there…

They can seem to fathom the simple thing that spreading islam or shamelessness by the use of the force and guns are EQUALLY condemnable… Killing of any innocent person unless he/she is not proven guilty is a serious offense and there is simple NO justification for it wotsoever. killing of a children on a mountain top through a gunship helicopter is not less of an evil then killing innocent people on the Karachi streets…
