I don't know if curfew was pre-announced or suddenly enforced, if suddenly enforced then its very likely people will run out of food... its not like US where they go grocery'ing once a week, they buy vegetables/meat for everyday consumption.
yeah when I was visiting pak last year they would buy milk and bread every day. Buy meat every couple of days or so. Not like us where we buy things in bulk.
yeah but its not necessary that everyone buy and eat fresh kukkar and kakri every day. I mean yeah what u have may not be chatpata taaza stuff..but unless your kitchen is completely bare, u have something to eat right..even if its just aata and tael and u make paratahas..

but not aata, daal, chawal, tael type of stuff
so make khichri..make parathas.
reporters are makign it sound like its ethiopia during famine
come on guys don't u know the difference btw middle class ( both upper & lower) and poor class ?? there're millions in pakistan living terrible life at hands of " imposed mehengai " over there ?? there r families ( all over country both in villages & cities including isloo) where people get wages on daily basis so they could only afford to make their both ends meet if they get their wages daily ........... in case men or women couldn't go for work for a day or 2 for any reason they're not able to feed their family for that particular day ......... they have no extra / saved money to stock up kitchen supplies even atta , daal & oil & onions .................... so in short media persons r not exaggerating they r just telling what exactly people r facing over there
no new forcast !! same old situation , every poor man in paki land is living a life of endless miseries, sufferings & impossibilities and to make the situation worst no body could change their fate .................... no government had ever done any effort to bring any difference in their lives , yet they vote every time in elections in utmost number in hope of a bright future
^ u have a very good perspective about these things i think. being well stocked has to do with the amount of money you have in your hand in the begining of the month, if its not much you cannot buy supplies in advance.
but are they at a level that if they dont do groceries for one day that they will have nothing to eat?
I have friends living in G 6, and according to them, during the more crucial days of the curfew, there were grocery cars roaming around in streets supplying important stuff like milk, bread, etc and they had speakers to inform ppl of their arrival, and if anyone was running out of grocery, they could call those ppl and they'd supply stuff to them...
other than that, the area was without electricity for a long long time.... those ppl who had relatives in other areas, moved out of their homes just out of fear..
And most of G 6 is residence of govt employees/lower middle class so u can expect them to be poorer than the average population of islamabad.
