Re: Are You Pregnant?

Hi sadia, A salaam.
Congrats! Well almost done .hmmmmmm actually 48 days to go if my little bundle of joy be on time. I just can not sleep cuz of hip pain. My first baby! Too much pelvic pain ...... you know what i am talking about hu! What do you do for hip pain?

Re: Are You Pregnant?

W’salam ILOVEMYBABY,

Congrats to you too. Well actually I dont have any hip pain (yet) but I can just imagine your feeling. Night time is the most difficult time as we momies start to worry about the child in the middle of the night. Its my first baby too and so many questions, but ask as many people you can those who have gone through pregnancy as they can give good tips from their own experiences.

I got a link for you in which it explains some comfortable sleeping positions.

Hope it helps a bit, maybe get warm milk or take a warm bath before going to sleep.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

I didn’t know Muniya was pregnant!! Congrats Muniya  I wonder if your baby will come out dancing :hehe:

Re: Are You Pregnant?

lol RB. Congrats muniya. Good luck to the three of you.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

well not exactly..but i have a big belly so it can be mistaken for pregnancy..

Re: Are You Pregnant?

congratulations and good luck :k:

Re: Are You Pregnant?

Me too, I am 35 weeks now and about five weeks left if baby comes on time..
I do get hip pain but not at night, instead usually when I am walking. Although at night there are other problems, like I can't sleep on my back, go to the bathroom so many times at night and it's hard to change sides. I always sleep on either side.
I wonder how sometimes people say that their baby came 2 weeks early....so I sometimes want mine to come a week or a few days earlier as well...just to get it over with.

I gained a lot of weight during the 2nd trimester but now I feel that my belly looks just as big as it was a month ago. I just worry why it became stable at the eighth month. I have only gained 20 pounds since I got pregnant.

How is everyone else doing with the weight?

Re: Are You Pregnant?

I look like I’ve been pregnant for 5 years now :bummer:

Re: Are You Pregnant?

Re: Are You Pregnant?

congrats to everyone who is pregnant :)

Re: Are You Pregnant?

Actually I was thinking a couple of days ago how do pregnant girls manage to sleep? I guess I have the answer that they don't?

The reason why I was wondering was because I sleep on my stomach (face and stomach down and back up facing the ceiling) and I can NOT sleep on my sides or facing up. It's really hard to sleep facing up, so do girls usually sleep facing up during the pregnancy? Because they can't sleep on their stomach obviously. If you sleep on your sides, doesn't that bother you because all the weight is pulling your stomach down?

How do you get your sleep then? I can imagine how hard it can be, in addition to all other pains.

Congratz and best of luck to all the future mothers here.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

^ They do sleep I believe. Fortunately, there are all sorts of body pillows that can help pregnant women's stomach feel less heavy. The good news is that most women naturally sleep on their sides or facing the ceiling. I sleep facing the ceiling with my hands on the stomach.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

i guess im in trouble when i get pregnant..cuz i sleep on my stomach with my hands out to my sides like im flying.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

I lie down on my stomach, but I don't sleep on it...sleep on my back or sides..

Re: Are You Pregnant?

ILOVE, Congratulations. I just had my second daughter on April 13th...so just over 2 weeks ago. And i don't miss the pregnancy aches and pains. The best position to sleep in is on your left side with a pillow between your knees or using a body pillow. This position takes pressure off hips and knees and allows baby to get the most amount of blood flow/oxygen. Do not sleep on your back.

I think the lack of sleep in the last trimester is nature preparing you for the arrival of the baby. You're going to be sleep deprived once that little milk drinking, pooping, colicky thing comes into your life.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

saimanyc is right. Sleep on your left side so baby gets ample blood/oxygen supply, i think this is more important during the late 2nd and finally the 3rd trimester when you are really big.

Congrats ya'll! (ilovemybaby, SaadiaB, Muniya, and Neera) Hope everything goes well for you guys insha'Allah.

Re: Are You Pregnant?

i can only fall asleep on my stomach. i usually move around a lot when i sleep, i usually end up sideways in my bed.

Thank you
