Maybe its just the way I am inferring this and apologies if it is incorrect.

Why do you thinks guys in those fields aren’t that educated? Jobs in most of these fields can be much more high profile and demanding than medicine; and entry requirements and the calibre of people for working in the best places/employers is very high.

I wanted to say this but didn’t know how to phrase it. Not only this, they could be just as geeky or snobby. I know too many geeky and snobby a$$es in my field.
