A spate of disasters indeed. At one time a plane is going down without any traces(despite there are so many spy -hawk eyes around the globe),another one is going down because of Buk missile, another one in desert, another one shortly after taking off…
Are you sacred/worried/tensed when you are taking a flight these days?
im usually more worried about my luggage getting lost or missing a flight connection if my flight has stops. as far as dying in a plane crash, the odds of my house catching fire, or me winning the lottery are even higher.
I fly frequently and was also flying to the US from Toronto the day that Detroit bomb guy was apprehended. The security was ridiculous that day and it took hours not to mention the pat downs. During the entire plane trip we also couldn’t use any form of technology, no bathroom breaks and our hands had to be visible. It was crazy!
But I’m not scared per se, it’s more of a nuisance nowadays because of the high level of security when flying in and out of the states. It’s just longer wait times sometimes especially if you fly into higher risk areas like NY and Washington. I actually find security bearable for international flights.
There was recently a concern in PIA, as they’re still using those jumbo jets B747-300 for flights to Saudi Arabia.
Some have expressed concerns to PIA management to stop using those planes before something happens…my parents had taken that B747 from Jeddah to Islamabad last year and what they described was horrific (condition) of the interiors. Same thing with the A310 aircrafts too, most of PIA’s aircraft are very old and past their life.
Only the B777’s are decent as they’re probably on lease so they have to be maintained well. Or cuz they’re used on long-hauls.
But domestic and regional routes, I pray for those PIA pax…people in Pakistan should be concerned…
a Muslim believes dat everything in dis world is Allah’s commandment, nothing can happen widout His consent.Everyone has to die so why be afraid of death. everyone has to die in da same manner as and wen Allah wills. If He wants he can save us and if He wants we can die at home.
I can understand one would be anxious more when travelling by air now but the truth is when your time is up there is no running away, wherever you may be, in a plane, in a car, at home in the garden. Hopefully we have time for kalma shahadat.
