But if he needs the example of women can undertake some of the duties men can do,let him have a glance through the heroic defense put up by Kurdish fighters against the ISIS in Kobane. A chunk of the fighters constituted girls and women and they fought a heroic battle while Turkey remained a silent spectator and watched the carnage being unleashed on Kobane citizens.

First of all, it’s not Turkey’s war and Turkey wasn’t being a silent spectator…Turkey was waiting for the signal from other countries. No one wants to bring someone else’s fight in their own home.

And lastly, there may be some exceptions but it is always mostly women who get raped in wars.

The last sentence is accurate. But how about looking at reasons for why it is a accurate?

Women have not been in the armed forces. As civilians they would tend to be at the receiving end of rape.

Kurdish women have shown women can do the job. They r the exception simply because it has been this way. As things change they will be less and less of an exception.

These r the words Edrogan did not speak. And these are true.

Turkey remained silent because it had to get it’s Mosul Consular General,it’s staffs and their relatives safe out of Iraq ,after they had been taken hostages by the ISIS.Turkey wants to see Kurdish fighters get annhilated and Mr.Bashar’s government being over thrown in Syria.

Yes I agree.Women do get raped,molested and subjected to all harassment in a war.

I did not see anywhere he degraded or insulted women. There are biological differences, and keeping those differences in mind will keep the respect in line

I think we can agree that there are physical limitations when it comes to men vs women, but the problem with people like Erdogan is they are fundamentalists (this applies to fundamentalists of religions). They see women’s role in very religiously defined terms…or as one of my friend would put it barefoot pregnant and in the kitchen.

Anyone with some sense would want to see Bashar’s government get overthrown. Erdogan did what was best in his country’s interest. If he wanted to see the Kurds annihilated he would have never agreed to cooperate.

It’s one thing to say that a woman can do certain things but it’s entirely another to insist that she is designed to do them.

I can design a machine or piece of equipment to execute a specific task/role.
I’m sure that another person can take that piece of equipment and adapt it or enhance it to fulfil a totally different and perhaps more strenuous task.

Men and women were never designed to be equals.
If anything women are much more versatile and therefore deserving of greater respect.
