Are women equal to men?

Re: Are women equal to men?

That’s they whole point. It has been after women have come out to start playing and started working and have become independent that you see these levels of participation. 100 years ago there weren’t even that many women. One can only guess if you get out of the way of women where they can go.

What Egadon gadha said is exactly the kind of male dominated world that have held women back. If we were to take your logic, by that one can say ‘hmmm..there are not many women in so many fields so conclusion is women are inferior and can only handle certain things’..well, that will sure to keep women at home and fulfill male chauvinistic self-fulfilling prophecy that women cannot do this or that.

Men cannot swim like fish. That doesn’t make fish any superior. But guess who eats who. By picking selective attributes where men may have advantages proves only skewed reality because you’re totally skipping things where women beat men in a heartbeat.

There is a word for it. It’s called misogyny.

 I noticed that too

Re: Are women equal to men?

do google. I shouldn’t say thousands. I should say millions. Billions. Now that I think about china and india and all the workforce that is made up of women.

He did not use the word inferior. I did not use the word inferior. Yeah aap kee apni ikhteraa hai

Re: Are women equal to men?

We already went over it. Just because he didn’t say it doesn’t mean he didn’t imply it. Do you take everything so literally?

You are reading too much between the lines, only because you want to

Re: Are women equal to men?

The only problem I have with his words is that he puts so much emphasis on motherhood and that being a major part of being a woman, but are those who cannot conceive any less of a woman?
Also, way to go with gender stereotyping? Women are delicate… there’s a lot who would beg to differ.
Also not all men are macho and love to wrestle, some might be “soft and delicate” as well. I think in todays day and age it’s ridiculous for us to classify men and women in such a way. I get where he was trying to go with his statement but his choice of words was just horrible.

Re: Are women equal to men?

i believe we read the English translation. what he said in Turkish could be appropriate. i dunno what his words were in Turkish.

Re: Are women equal to men?

What a great man with wisdom he is.

Not you Shamraz Khan, you are such a suRhakkay Baaz!

suRhakkay Baaz (If I am writing it correctly) = Deliberately inciting or inflammatory.

Re: Are women equal to men?

Yes.

Re: Are women equal to men?

Nowhere he meant that women should exclusively be respected just because they become mothers.

Re: Are women equal to men?

I am sure you did not mean several of the items listed above. For women are in several of these fields. And doing quite well when given the chance.

Re: Are women equal to men?

How does President Erdoğan know how paradise smells? Is he into round rotis?

Re: Are women equal to men?

All it means he feels he is in paradise.

Re: Are women equal to men?

The Quran
"Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood’ "(17:23-24).

The Hadiths

  1. The Prophet Muhammad said, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai).

  2. A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim).

  3. Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said: Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).

  4. Abdullah ibn Amr related that the Messenger of Allah said: The major sins are to believe that Allah has partners, to disobey one’s parents, to commit murder, and to bear false witness (Bukhari, Muslim).

  5. It is narrated by Asma bint Abu Bakr that during the treaty of Hudaibiyah, her mother, who was then pagan, came to see her from Makkah. Asma informed the Messenger of Allah of her arrival and also that she needed help. He said: Be good to your mother (Bukhari, Muslim).
