I was having a discussion with a friend here at the office, it came up to the issue of gender balance. We have roughly 100 international civilians here and only 10 women. As the discussion progressed it went further into the old *******s we have at the office that chase any skirt that comes to the office.
Which brought up an interesting discussion. Are a woman a vice? By their mere existence they alter the apptitude of men just like drugs or alcohol.
By their mere existence, no they are not a vice. But they certainly are in a position to be it, and many of them do. From a man's perspective, men need women for survival - and I wouldn't count George Michael's view on this. For many reasons we need them, AND they need us. Then again, given how we (men and women) are programmed, they always are in a position to abuse the laws of attraction in their favor, playing mind games and manipulating. And the vice starts when they start using (rather abusing) these built-in tools. So by their mere existence they are not vice, but with every woman cometh vice. It is a matter of their urge to use their dark side, or to control them and be the positive influence and support that they can and should become.
Intriguing. A woman by herself is not a vice. But the possibility of vice when she is placed in an enviornment with men is high. This I agree with. The question is then, is it the woman's responibility to ensure that vice does not walk beside her or the mans?

yes women are vice as we are dependent on them and they are dependent on us. by wisdom she is also a vice and we are the king they are queens

Well it was a woman who got Adam out of Heaven! And they haven't tried to make
this place heaven for us either!
To me a 'vice' is an immoral habbit or addiction usually paid for, women are not a habbit or an addiction.
What I mean is that women themselves are not vices, it's when they use what they have as a women and profiteer from it some way they become the 'vice'.

One last try, by default women are not vices, they have to make a concious desecion to become a 'vice'. A prostitute was an obvious example and I wanted to keep it short cos I'm a women and should not be posting.

The direction in which the world is moving, I think a man can become a vice too. (in many different ways)
Anyways, only that person can become a vice who doesn't know one's rights, responsibilities, moral values, and easily let oneself be misused in any manner ignoring one's own dignity and honor. The best guide for a Muslim for preventing oneself from becoming a vice is to practice one's beliefs and principles without exceeding the limits.
