ALOT OF people, well in my family anyway, say that before the wedding it doesnt matter hwo you look. but after your married your meant to walk around all dolled up and looked groomed, and i dnt mean just after the wedding day, i mean literally life after marriage. you should always look good and look better than pre-marriage days…so for eg..if you never wore makeup or wore crappy suits before, afte rmarriage your meant to dress nicely ALWAYS AND WEAR SOME MAKEUP…AND LOOK GROOMED ALL THE TIME…
and if you dont, people talk and think youve let urself go or you dnt care about your appearance…whys that…why are so consumed with these thoughts as a pakistani race…
I guess the reason why that thinking is, that if you're happy in your married life then you will want to look your best. When you feel good = you look good. Also once ur married u have someone to dress up for. Of course this thinking is very old school, but obviously the actions still persist.
And anyways, what's wrong with being groomed/well dressed most of the time?
i dnt think anything wrong with it....i just think however you dress before marriage,,,,your meant to be look one better than that afterwards....alot of people have this way of thinking....
dude, it's really upto you. If you want to look all pretty and dolled in front of your husband..then yes, you do dress up after marriage. Don't have to go over board but look presentable and nice, you know? But the thought that you it doesnt matter before marriage is crap..if you have a life and friends..you ll still want to look your best, right? If not for others, then atleast yourself.
I think people do the opposite and lose their looks after marriage, the men and women nearly always put on a a lot of weight. Women do get more 'dolled up' tho which I always found a bit weird, I mean seeing forty and fifty yr-old Aunties plastered in makeup and their tummys bulging out of their sarees is not a good look :(
^ ahh myc ousins and I used to wonder about that when we were around 12 or so…one of em said someone told her its b/c of ahem having sex makes you fatter. :halo:
